Alaska's Denali & Kenai Fjords
Day 1 : Anchorage - Seward (127 miles)
Collect your car and travel along the Seward Highway keeping an eye out for wildlife along the way.
Day 2 : Northwestern Fjord Cruise
Enjoy a Kenai Fjords National Park day Cruise, the magnificent Northwestern Fjord, home to numerous alpine glaciers. Kenai Fjords National Park boasts abundant wildlife and breathtaking scenery.
Day 3 : Seward - Homer (168 miles)
Follow the Sterling Highway through miles of spectacular landscape with snow-capped mountains and its many active volcanoes known as the “Ring of Fire” to Homer, a town blessed with a view to the south that is stunning in its beauty and grandeur.
Day 4 : Homer
The looming peaks of the Kenai Mountains, with ancient glaciers and abundant wildlife, stand over Homer, with its coffee bars and fine restaurants.
Day 5 : Homer - Cooper Landing (120 miles)
Enjoy a scenic drive to Ninilchik, the oldest settlement on the Kenai Peninsula, on your way to Cooper Landing, located at the world famous Kenai and Russian River and enjoy a two-hour float trip on the Upper Kenai River. Watch for moose, eagles, Dall sheep, salmon and bears as your guide navigates you through the snow-capped mountain scenery to the heart of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge.
Day 6 : Cooper Landing - Girdwood (66 miles) with Glacier Dog Sledding Heli Tour
Drive east on the Sterling Highway and then north on the Seward Highway to reach Girdwood, home of the only 5-star resort in Alaska. In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic helicopter flight to the unique glacier base camp that serves as a summertime training ground for Iditarod sled dogs. Take a scenic ride along a spectacular 3.25km glacier trail.
Day 7 : Girdwood - Talkeetna (150 miles)
Pass through Anchorage and drive the Glenn Highway north to Wasilla and onto Talkeetna. A turn-of-the-20th-century gold-mining centre, the town has retained much of its early Alaskan flavour, while Mount McKinley looms overhead.
Day 8 : Talkeetna - Denali Park Entrance (105 miles)
Drive the Parks Highway north to Denali. Leave your vehicle at the entrance to Denali National Park and transfer by bus deep inside the park to your Lodge. Look out for different animal species such as bears, caribou, moose, sheep and wolves.
Day 9 : Denali Back Country Lodge
In a remote valley, deep in the heart of Denali National Park, experience authentic Alaska. Day 10 : Denali Backcountry Lodge - Denali Park Entrance
An early departure this morning gives you another opportunity to view the magnificent scenery along the route back to the Denali National Park Entrance. The rest of the day is yours to explore Denali Village
Day 11 : Denali - Anchorage (238 miles)
Depart at your leisure this morning and make your way to Anchorage for your onward journey. Please consider todays driving distance when making your onward arrangements.
