Day 1 : Arrive Melbourne
On arrival, a private transfer will take you from the airport to your hotel. After checking in, the remainder of the day is free.
Day 2 : Melbourne
This morning enjoy a tour of some of Melbourne’s many sights. You’ll tour the city and see the Parliament House and St Patrick’s Cathedral, the University and the café culture of Little Italy. You’ll visit the Queen Victoria Market to soak up the atmosphere and maybe hunt out a bargain, and stroll though Chinatown. See Captain Cooke’s cottage in Fitzroy Gardens, Federation Square and Flinders Street Station. And stroll though the arcades and alleyways like Block Arcade and Degraves Street, perhaps pausing to buy a coffee from a street-side barista. The rest of the day is free.
Day 3 : Melbourne - Free day
You’ve a free day today to explore this cultural melting pot. Perhaps you’ll visit the new Southbank area, where restaurants and bars line the bank of the Yarra River, or visit the quaint shopping alleys and arcades, galleries and highlights that you saw on yesterday’s city tour. For something different maybe take a cruise on the river, a day trip to the Yarra Valley, the Great Ocean Road or to see the Penguin parade. The choice is yours today.
Day 4 : Melbourne - Adelaide
Take an included transfer to Melbourne airport for your flight to Adelaide (flight not included). On arrival you will be transferred to your Adelaide hotel and then the rest of the day is free to explore this cosmopolitan city. It is easily explored on foot with all the main attractions within walking distance. With a laid back lifestyle, Aboriginal culture and great dining scene you are sure to enjoy your time here.
Day 5 : Kangaroo Island
Discover the highlights of Kangaroo Island on this full day coach tour. From Remarkable Rocks to playful fur seals, the tour will take you to the Kangaroo Island’s natural highlights. Walk on the beach among a colony of rare and wild Australian Sea Lions with a National Parks Ranger. Head to Vivonne Bay for a two-course lunch; spend the afternoon at Flinders Chase National Park, renowned as a sanctuary for native Australian animals including kangaroos, wallabies, koalas and echidnas. The tour of the park will take you to the rugged southern coastline for a walk on Remarkable Rocks and Admiral’s Arch. Remarkable Rocks provides great photographic opportunities and stunning sea views. Admiral’s Arch boardwalk takes you down a rugged cliff face to reveal this spectacular rock archway.

Day 6 : Adelaide - Barossa Valley
On today’s excursion first stop in the morning will be at the Whispering Wall. Make a brief stop at Barossa Reservoir (known as the ‘Whispering Wall’) prior to enjoying morning tea at Lyndoch Bakery. Learn the winemaking process on a guided ‘Behind the Scenes’ tour at Richmond Grove Wines. Richmond Grove Wines is located in a charming historic chateau and you will also view the original winery built in 1897 with traditional winemaking equipment. A tutored wine tasting will follow incorporating basic wine education. Continue to Kaesler Restaurant for lunch and after lunch travel through the old mill town of Woodside and the Adelaide Hills. Here you will visit the Australia’s oldest German settlement – Hahndorf. The German settlement of Hahndorf with its arts and craft, cottage industry shops, pubs, traditional small goods and bakeries evokes the tastes and smells of Bavaria. Also visit the Villages of Crafers, Stirling and Aldgate set amongst the lush greenness of the Adelaide Hills and the village of Bridgewater with Bridgewater Mill and Waterwheel. Return to Adelaide for an evening at leisure.
Day 7 : Adelaide - Port Douglas
A transfer will take you to Adelaide airport for your flight to Cairns (flight not included). On arrival you will be transferred along the scenic coastal road to Port Douglas. An hour north of Cairns, Port Douglas is one of the leading holiday resorts in Australia. This is the home of Four Mile Beach, an immense strip of soft white sand backed by tropical forest and lapped by sparkling azure blue waters. A laid back resort with a bustling marina, shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants, it’s an ideal holiday location and a great starting point for trips north to the Daintree Rainforest or snorkelling and diving trips to the Great Barrier Reef.
Day 8 : Great Barrier Reef
Imagine sailing on a catamaran to the island of your dreams off the Great Barrier Reef, lying under a palm thatched umbrella, then slipping into the water to drift over coral gardens alive with turtles and brilliantly coloured fishes. An hour sailing time from Port Douglas, Low Isles is set like a jewel in a Great Barrier Reef lagoon, an idyllic unspoilt tropical paradise that appeals to everyone. The wide sandy beach and clear, calm lagoon are ideal for swimming and snorkelling. Take your mask and snorkel and swim gently around the coral gardens where you’ll see curious clownfish and graceful turtles. You will be collected from your hotel and transferred to the Port Douglas Marina to board your 30 metre luxury sailing catamaran, Wavedancer. Relax in the air-conditioned lounge with its fully licensed bar, or soak up the sun and sea under the sails on the deck. Enjoy morning coffee, afternoon tea and a sumptuous buffet lunch onboard.
Day 9 : Kuranda Excursion
Experience the contrast of the region’s oldest railway and the world’s most beautiful Cableway and learn of Aboriginal culture. Tjapukai is your fi rst stop; meet your guide for the morning to explore all its attractions, including the Aboriginal village and the Dance Troupe. After your included lunch board the Skyrail and glide across the rainforest canopy to the village of Kuranda. See its colourful market and arts and crafts stores before returning to the station by the river in Kuranda. Board the famous Kuranda Scenic Railway and journey back through 15 hand cut tunnels, rainforest and past spectacular waterfalls to Cairns.
Day 10 : Cairns - Sydney
Enjoy a final glimpse of the sparkling blue seas and verdant jungle landscapes on a shuttle transfer from your hotel to Cairns Airport this morning. Fly from Cairns to Sydney (not included) and on arrival in Sydney, you will be transferred by shuttle service from the airport to your hotel where the remainder of the day is at your leisure. Perhaps take a stroll around Darling Harbour or Circular Quay this evening.
Day 11 : Sydney Sightseeing
This morning enjoy a city tour that will introduce you to some of Sydney’s many highlights. Stop at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair for an iconic photograph of the Sydney Harbour Bridge behind the Opera House, before heading out to Bondi Beach through the affluent eastern suburbs. This afternoon enjoy a cruise to see the Main Harbour attractions such as the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and Fort Denison before cruising into the magnificent upper reaches of Middle Harbour with its waterfront homes, parks, beaches and marinas. Your cruise includes afternoon tea served onboard.
Day 12 : Sydney free day
Yesterday showcased the best of Sydney and today you can explore this scintillating city on your own; the problem is you’ll be spoiled for choice as to where to revisit. Will it be the Rocks and Circular Quay; Darling harbour, the Aquarium or the quaint shopping arcades and designer boutiques? Perhaps you’ll take to the ferries and explore Manley or visit Taronga Zoo, or maybe you’ll head out to the Hunter Valley or Blue Mountains. Whatever you do, don’t miss the opportunity to sample some of the southern hemisphere’s best cuisine in Sydney’s varied eating places. Surry Hills hosts an eclectic mix of excellent restaurants that aren’t hard on the pocket either.
Day 13 : Depart Sydney
An included shuttle transfer will take you to the airport.
