Your Itinerary
Day 1-4 : UK-Darwin
Arrive into Darwin and make your way to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore Australia’s most northerly city on your own. With everything from Asian food markets and crocodile encounters to open-air movies and dazzling sunsets, Darwin has something for everyone.
Day 5 : Jumping Crocodiles
Spend the morning exploring Darwin then take an afternoon excursion to see some of the 1600 crocodiles that live around the Adelaide River. Cruise on the river and see these creatures jump out of the water.
Day 6 : The Ghan - Katherine
Transfer to the station and take the Ghan train. The train leaves mid-morning and first stop is at Katherine where you have a three hour stop and can enjoy an included excursion to the Nitmiluk Gorge. Back on the train to enjoy dinner before your overnight journey to Australia’s Red Centre.

Day 7 : The Ghan - Alice Springs
Enjoy breakfast onboard before arriving in Alice Springs mid-morning. The train stays all day in Alice Springs and leaves in the evening, so you’ve plenty of time to enjoy the town on a sightseeing tour, or maybe you’ll opt for an optional flight-seeing trip over Ayers Rock.
Day 8 : The Ghan – Coober Pedy
The opal mining capital of the country is the next stop. Arriving after breakfast there’s a full day to explore this unique town including an included sightseeing excursion. Re-board the Ghan early evening for your final night on board as you head to Adelaide.
Day 9 : Adelaide
Arrive into Adelaide mid-morning after a final sumptuous breakfast on board. Transfer to your hotel then the rest of your day is free to explore. Soak up Adelaide’s colonial elegance in the spacious green parklands, bustling Adelaide Central Markets and the museums and libraries of North Terrace.
Day 10 : Kangaroo Island
Discover the highlights of Kangaroo Island on this full day coach tour. From Remarkable Rocks to playful fur seals, the tour will take you to the Kangaroo Island’s natural highlights. Walk on the beach among a colony of rare and wild Australian Sea Lions with a National Parks Ranger. Head to Vivonne Bay for a two-course lunch. Spend the afternoon at Flinders Chase National Park, renowned as a sanctuary for native Australian animals including kangaroos, wallabies, koalas and echidnas. The tour of the park will take you to the rugged southern coastline for a walk on Remarkable Rocks and Admiral’s Arch. Remarkable Rocks provides great photographic opportunities and stunning sea views. Admiral’s Arch boardwalk takes you down a rugged cliff face to reveal this spectacular rock archway.
Day 11-13 : Adelaide Sightseeing
Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour that includes the highlights of this cosmopolitan city, then explore on your own in the afternoon. Perhaps you’ll visit St Peter’s Cathedral or the Adelaide Oval; head to the shops or enjoy the relaxing scene alongside the Murray River, stopping for a refreshing drink along the way.
Day 14-15 : Adelaide to UK
Make your way to the airport for your onward journey.
