5 Reasons Why We Love Noosa!

Noosa is home to beautiful beaches, lush green hinterland, a stunning coastal national park, a laidback lifestyle…oh, and one of only two everglade systems in the entire world. There are countless reasons to love Noosa, but we thought we’d summarise the top 5. With our fabulous Holiday of the Week, you could be jetting off to Noosa and seeing all of the amazing things we’ve listed below. Be sure to take plenty of pictures for us…

1. Noosa Everglades

The Noosa Everglades is one of only two everglades systems on Earth; it’s a world of water, wilderness and wonder.

Known as the ‘River of Mirrors’ because of the amazing reflections you can see in the water, the Noosa Everglades, in the upper reaches of the Noosa River, is a 60km stretch of pristine waters, magnificent flora and fauna and narrow waterways.

Whether you want to explore the Noosa Everglades with guided and self-guided kayak tours from Boreen Point, by boat from Noosaville, or on foot, there’s options for everyone.

It may be one of Noosa’s hidden spots, but it's easy to get to. It can take as little as half a day to explore, but you can always stay longer to explore its true beauty. And the best part? It’s only about 40 minutes from Noosa Heads!

2. Noosa Heads & Hastings Street

You won’t find skyscrapers here; the leafy, low-rise coastal town of Noosa Heads is popular with visitors from around Australia and overseas for its laidback and suburban-feel lifestyle. It’s surrounded by the calm waters of Laguna Bay, Noosa National Park and the tranquil Noosa River, so it's no surprise that Noosa Heads has long been a favourite holiday destination.

At the heart of Noosa Heads is Hastings Street, a relaxed, pedestrian-friendly, beachside thoroughfare that is a haven for visitors who flock to the resort accommodation, cosmopolitan cafés, designer shops and alfresco dining.

3. Noosa National Park

It’s known as one of Australia’s favourite National Parks, and it’s not hard to see why. With easy access, hundreds of kilometres of walking tracks (from wheelchair accessible to medium level sandy tracks) and stunning natural scenery, Noosa National Park is loved by locals and visitors alike.

An easy introduction to Noosa National Park would be to take a stroll along the boardwalk from the end of Noosa Main Beach. This will take you past Little Cove, a favourite beach for the locals and on towards the park main entrance.

Follow the coastal path stopping at the “Boiling Pot” a short distance into the park. Proceed along the coastal track to Tea Tree Bay and do a bit of koala spotting in the trees behind the beach!

4. Fraser Island & Cooloola

The Noosa region is the gateway to the Cooloola Recreation Area and World Heritage-listed Fraser Island, both part of the Great Sandy National Park. It's an area of unspoilt natural beauty, hundreds of kilometres of white beaches, cliffs of coloured sands, lush rainforest and bushland, sand dunes, freshwater lakes and more. Guided day tours and overnight trips are available from Noosa; join a tag-along 4WD camping tour or hire a vehicle and explore the region yourself.

5. Beaches

No holiday is complete without a good beach – or in Noosa’s case, a boat load of them! Take in 50 shades of relaxing blue in Noosa’s beautiful waters. Noosa's beaches have something for everyone - from the safe, calm waters of Laguna Bay that lap Noosa's Main Beach and are hugged by the Noosa National Park on one side and Noosa North Shore on the other, to the expansive open beaches on the eastern seaboard.

There are beaches for swimming, surfing, stand-up paddling, boating, fishing, kite-surfing, snorkelling, walking, exploring - there are even beaches for dogs to run off-leash.
