Day 1 : Sydney

Upon arrival into Sydney you will be met and transferred to your hotel located in the heart of downtown Sydney.

Hotel for 3 nights: Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney

Day 2 : Sydney at Leisure

Awake to a full day at leisure to spend in Sydney. Wrapped around a spectacular harbour, this city is home to the instantly recognisable Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Perhaps you might enjoy a bird’s-eye view of Sydney’s coast aboard a seaplane
or climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge (both at own expense). This evening, take to the water for a cruise on the Sydney Harbour. As you cruise, savour a memorable Welcome Dinner where you will have the opportunity to get to know your Tour Director and fellow travellers over a delicious meal.

Day 3 : Sydney Sightseeing

Discover a selection of Sydney’s most incredible sights on a guided tour today. Afterwards, relish a traditional fish ‘n’ chip lunch on Bondi Beach. Then, step inside the Sydney Opera House for a guided tour of this world-renowned theatre. 

Day 4 : Sydney - Hamilton Island

Following breakfast, be transferred to the airport to fly to Hamilton Island. You have the remainder of the day at leisure to do whatever you like in this slice of paradise. Perhaps snorkel off the beach, enjoy a round of golf or hire a buggy to explore this
beautiful island (all at own expense). Dinner tonight is at your hotel.

Day 5 : Hamilton Island

Today is at leisure. Perhaps you’ll laze on the gorgeous white sands or swim in the incredibly crystal clear azure blue sea, or there is an opportunity to be mesmerised by the natural beauty of the Whitsunday Islands on a cruise. Scattered like jewels across the sea, many of the Whitsunday Islands are uninhabited and boast some of the most pristine beaches in the world (own expense) or spend the day exploring Hamilton Island.

Day 6 : Hamilton Island - Cairns - Port Douglas

Bid farewell to Hamilton Island as you board your flight to Cairns. On arrival in the gateway to north Queensland board your coach and head onwards to Port Douglas, where the Daintree Rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef. The drive is quite stunning, with glimpses of the amazing coastline, secluded beaches and crystal sea on the right and jungle like rainforest on the left. The rest of the day is free to explore this delightful place, famous for the amazing Four Mile Beach that runs the length of the peninsula that Port Douglas occupies the stunning sands are backed by tropical trees and no matter how busy the season you’ll never feel crowded. Macrossan Street is the main street in town, and along with the picturesque harbour offers a variety of bars, restaurants and boutiques. Whatever you do, don’t miss the sunset from a harbourside bar terrace, or the views from the lookout across the town to the rainforest or out to the coral Sea.

Day 7 : Great Barrier Reef

Port Douglas is the gateway to the northern Great Barrier reef, and today you will experience a holiday highlight as you cruise aboard Quicksilver’s technologically advanced Wavepiercer catamaran to the outer Great Barrier Reef. Experience the colourful coral and marine life at Agincourt Reef, where you will have the option to dive or snorkel, or perhaps stay dry from a semi-submersible vessel. Visit a unique underwater viewing platform and underwater observatory to watch the fish feeding.
For the ultimate reef experience there’s no better way to see it than from the air, so perhaps take a scenic helicopter flight over the reef (additional expense).

Day 8 : Port Douglas - Cairns

Take an opportunity today for private sightseeing, explore Cape Tribulation in the Daintree National Park, home to the world’s oldest living rainforest. This is a bushwalker’s paradise; enjoy a short jaunt through the lush rainforest and emerge straight out onto the beach. Alternatively, ride the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway in Kuranda. Stretching above seven kilometres of lush rainforest, the cableway is the perfect way to enjoy your surrounds (all at own expense). You travel to Cairns late morning with the
remainder of the afternoon at leisure.

Day 9 : Cairns - Uluru

It’s an early start for your flight to Ayers Rock. Watch as the scenery dramatically changes from the palm-fringed beaches of the tropical north to the rugged landscapes of Australia’s red centre. Undertake the base tour on arrival and spend the afternoon exploring this iconic part of Australia. This evening, enjoy a glass of wine while you watch as the sun begins its descent over Uluru followed by a spectacular experience at the Field of Light. As darkness descends over Uluru, thousands of lights illuminate the vast expanse in a kaleidoscope of colour. See the desert come alive as the lights create a gentle rhythm.

Day 10 : Uluru - Alice Springs

Rise early this morning, but it will be worth the effort as you marvel at the magnificent sunrise over Uluru. Then travel through the vast outback scenery and rugged desert landscapes of the region. You’ll pass through the beautiful West MacDonnell ranges, the oldest in Australia , as yu you’re your way to Alice Springs, fondly known as “the Alice”. Alice Springs hosts a variety of museums and art galleries featuring Indigenous artwork that celebrates the Indigenous community that live here. This evening is at leisure.

Day 11 : Alice Springs touring

Tour Alice Springs this morning, visit the School of the Air and the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Sit inside a RFDS aircraft, see historic radios used by the doctors and discover how the doctors operated in 1928. At sunset, you may like to take a  memorable camel ride alongside the West MacDonnell Ranges (own expense).

Day 12 : Alice Springs - Melbourne

Some leisure time this morning before we head to Alice Springs Airport for your flight to cosmopolitan Melbourne. Arrive late in the afternoon to this thriving metropolis and be transferred to your hotel. Bursting with history and culture, Melbourne was once Australia’s capital and still lays claim to being its cultural capital and most liveable city - and we agree! With a 175 year history it’s a cultural melting pot, sophisticated, elegant and cosmopolitan; a centre of arts, culture, fashion and sport. Tree lined
boulevards, spacious parks, an eclectic mix of boutiques in little alleyways and Victorian arcades; a remarkably European café culture and restaurant scene make it the perfect last stop on your holiday.

Day 13 : Melbourne Sightseeing

Explore Melbourne this morning on a guided tour and discover the must-see sights and hidden gems. Stand on the large grounds of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), the largest cricket stadium in the world. Enjoy a free afternoon and evening tonight.

Day 14 : Melbourne at Leisure

With a full day at leisure, perhaps take a cruise on the Yarra River to enjoy unique views of the Melbourne skyline; discover the coastal scenery, native flora and intriguing towns along the Great Ocean Road; or enjoy lunch aboard the historic Colonial Tramcar Restaurant (all at own expense). You might prefer to wander the city. Hear the hollering of market merchants at the Queen Victoria Market. Slurp up noodles in Chinatown and stop to smell the flowers at the Royal Botanical Gardens. This evening, a Farewell Drink and Dinner is the perfect opportunity say goodbye to your Tour Director and new-found friends.

Day 15 : Depart Melbourne

A last chance to soak up the atmosphere of this wonderful city. Browse the alleyways with their “street art” and coffee shops, stroll the banks of the river or head to the arcades for last minute shopping, before your transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK.
