Day 1 : Welcome to Vancouver

Be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in the heart of this cosmopolitan city. Vancouver was voted the most liveable city in Canada; a young, friendly metropolis with countless natural charms in close proximity. After settling in, you’ll meet your Tour Director and fellow guests during a Welcome Reception this evening.

Day 2 : Vancouver

Visit Grouse Mountain Bear Refuge for breakfast and bear viewing. Then discover Vancouver on a sightseeing tour. Take in the city’s high-rise-framed Waterfront and enjoy time to visit its historic heart and oldest neighbourhood Gastown. Later, you may wish to enjoy an optional experience, such as a Grouse Mountain gondola ride, Capilano Suspension Bridge, Hop-On Hop Off, Fly Over Canada (own expense).

Day 3 : Vancouver - Rocky Mountaineer - Kamloops

Board the world-famous Rocky Mountaineer train and settle into your SilverLeaf carriage with large windows that provide amazing views as you enjoy breakfast and lunch on board as you head towards Kamloops. Pass through the fertile Fraser Valley and the scenic Fraser Canyon. At Hell’s Gate, see water pass through the walls of the narrowest point of the canyon. Follow the Thompson River to the city of Kamloops.

Day 4 : Kamloops - Rocky Mountaineer - Jasper

Reboard the Rocky Mountaineer and continue your spectacular journey to Jasper. As you indulge in breakfast and lunch onboard you’ll head north and east to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. Follow the banks of the North Thompson River through the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains, climbing to the high peaks of the Continental Divide. Today’s highlights include Mount Robson, Pyramid Falls, and the Yellowhead Pass. Enjoy time at leisure this evening to explore.

Day 5 : Jasper at leisure

After breakfast today, you have the full day to take time out to relax or explore Jasper. There is no end to the excitement you can enjoy in this beautiful town. Perhaps embark on a Harley Davidson sidecar tour, take a thrilling rafting adventure on the Athabasca River or an evening wildlife experience (own expense). Later, enjoy a delicious western-style authentic BBQ dinner at the Jasper Stables. 

Day 6 : Jasper - Icefields Parkway - Lake Louise

Visit Maligne Canyon before travelling along the Icefields Parkway and stopping for an Ice Explorer ride onto Athabasca Glacier. Venture directly onto the Glacier in a specially-designed vehicle where an experienced driver guide will share a wealth of information about glaciers. Then continue along the Icefield Parkway, past glistening lakes reflecting soaring mountain peaks through alpine meadows and past rushing waterfalls. Continue to Lake Louise, the ‘Jewel of the Rockies’ and one of the world’s most stunning locations. Enjoy dinner at your iconic hotel tonight, set amidst stunning surroundings.

Day 7 : Lake Louise - Banff

Travel to Moraine Lake (weather permitting) on your way to Banff National Park. This afternoon, explore the Banff on a sightseeing tour, then ride the Banff Gondola along Sulphur Mountain for views of the surrounding area.

Day 8 : Banff at leisure

Nestled high in the Canadian Rockies, Banff is a town that makes you feel at home and exhilarated with wonder all at the same time; a town that truly celebrates its heritage, lives and breathes mountain culture and never takes its backyard for granted. Explore on your own today and perhaps browse the shops along Banff Avenue, take on optional helicopter tour over the majestic Rockies, or just relax and enjoy the facilities in your hotel. If you’re feeling adventurous why not try a canoe trip on the bow river, or for a more serene experience try a float trip and look for wildlife along the river banks. Or head out to nearby Lake Minnewanka for a cruise on the lake, or visit the Cave and Basin or the famous hot springs.

Day 9 : Day 9: Banff - Quaaout Lodge

Descend from the Rockies via the beautiful Yoho National Park, then continue to Little Shuswap Lake where your hotel is idyllically set on 600 yards of beachfront on the shores of the lake. Gain an insight into the history of Canada’s indigenous culture on an interpretive walk and enjoy a First Nations-inspired dinner this evening.

Day 10 : Quaaout Lodge - Whistler

Travel through the Cariboo region today before arriving in Whistler. Enjoy an indigenous-inspired feast at the Lil’wat Squamish Cultural Centre and learn about the local First Nations people.

Day 11 : Whistler at leisure

The day is yours at leisure to explore Whistler however you wish. This charming alpine resort village nestles between world-renowned Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. Enjoy an extensive range of summer activities from championship designer golf courses and water activities on any of the 5 lakes or numerous rivers to mountain top dining. Perhaps ride the PEAK2PEAK Gondola, the longest and highest lift in the world for an unparalleled perspective of British Columbia’s rooftop – from incomparable views of towering volcanic peaks to coastal rainforest. Or just relax and enjoy some of the many cafés and restaurants.

Day 12 : Whistler - Victoria

Follow the Sea-to-Sky Highway before taking a ferry across Georgia Strait to Victoria. Alternatively, perhaps you would like to take a scenic floatplane flight from Whistler to Victoria (own expense).

Day 13 : Victoria at leisure

Enjoy time at leisure today to explore on your own. Perhaps take a whale-watching cruise or a horse-drawn carriage tour (own expense). This evening you visit Butchart Gardens for a farewell dinner.

Day 14 : Victoria - Vancouver

After breakfast at your hotel, travel to Vancouver.

Guests on the tour only will be taken to the airport for your onward journey.

Guests on the tour and cruise will be taken to the cruise terminal to board the ms Nieuw Amsterdam for your Alaskan Inside Passage cruise.

Day 15 : Inside Passage

Enjoy the day at sea as your ship journeys through the beautiful Inside Passage.

Day 16 : Juneau

Here in Alaska’s capital, perhaps enjoy a dog sled ride along a glacier, sample delicious salmon baked over a fire, or pan for gold (own expense).

Day 17 : Skagway

Today, enjoy free time in the port of Skagway. Perhaps dig for gold or see some of the local wildlife (own expense).

Day 18 : Glacier Bay

Wake to the breathtaking sight of Glacier Bay National Park, as knowledgeable rangers join you on board to explain the geological features of the bay.

Day 19 : Ketchikan

In Ketchikan, perhaps join a walking tour of the town or learn about Tlingit culture at Saxman Native Village (own expense).

Day 20 : Inside Passage

Enjoy the scenery and comforts of your ship during a day at sea.

Day 21 : Vancouver disembarkation

Your journey ends this morning with a transfer to the airport. Please ensure your onwards flight departs after 1pm.
