see and do in winter: you’ll discover frozen waterfalls, take a horse drawn sleigh ride, try snowshoeing and visit majestic Lake Louise. Travel the famous icefields parkway to Jasper before taking VIA Rail’s famous Canadian train from Jasper to cosmopolitan Vancouver.
Trans Canadian Winter Adventure
Day 1 : UK-Toronto
On arrival in Toronto make your own way to your hotel for a three night stay. The remainder of the day is free to explore. Toronto has it all: from a lively cultural scene and animated districts to some of the world’s greatest attractions. From the moment you arrive, you’ll discover that Toronto is one of the most dynamic, energetic and creative places on earth, one of the world’s most vibrant and welcoming cities.
Day 2 : Toronto
Join a hop on / hop off city tour of Toronto this morning to see everything the city has to offer. Be sure to visit the CN Tower (included) and if you’re brave enough stand on the transparent glass floor and look down to the city 550
Day 3 : Niagara Falls Day Tour
Enjoy a full-day sightseeing excursion to Niagara Falls. Marvel at the spectacle of the famous Niagara Falls in the frozen winter and walk behind the falls to see the ceiling of ice. Pass through the historic community of Niagara-on-the- Lake before returning to Toronto for the evening. Lunch included.
Day 4 : Calgary
This morning make your way to the airport for you flight to Calgary from where you will be transferred to the mountain town of Banff for a five night stay.
Day 5 : Banff
A morning tour of the Banff area will take you to many of Banff’s landmarks historical places. This will also be one of your best chances to see wildlife while in the park. Photo opportunities and short walks to viewpoints with your guide are abundant on this tour. This afternoon make your own way to the stables, a short walk from downtown.
Your tour in a horse drawn sleigh will manifest the magic of winter.
Day 6 : Johnston Canyon Icewalk Tour
This afternoon reinvigorate yourself by exploring Banff National Park. The Johnston Canyon Icewalk experience
will introduce you to stunning frozen waterfalls and amazing views of the canyon.
Day 7 : Lake Louise
Enjoy a full day of exploring and activity on a guided sightseeing tour to Lake Louise. You will have free time to explore
the lake on foot or on snowshoes, relax in the Chateau or rent ice skates on your own. Return to your hotel late afternoon.
Day 8 : Afternoon Snowshoeing to Paint Pots
This afternoon snowshoe on an easy trail winding through a forest of pine trees to the Paint Pots, a cultural treasure within the National Park. Along the way you will hear stories of Banff’s indigenous people, explorers and fur traders who lived in and travelled through the Rockies. After this crisp winter walk, enjoy a uniquely Canadian treat: hot maple taffy poured into snow to make a sweet frozen dessert.
Day 9 : Jasper
Today you’ll travel the Icefields parkway through towering snow-capped mountain peaks as you continue to
Jasper for two nights.
Day 10 : Jasper
A free day to explore.
Day 12-13 : Vancouver
Arrive in Vancouver on the morning of day 12, then enjoy time exploring cosmopolitan Vancouver, consistently
voted the most liveable city in Canada. See the sights on an included city tour.
Day 14-15 : Vancouver - UK
Make your way to the airport for your flight home.
Day 11 : The Canadian
Board the Canadian this morning for the overnight journey to Vancouver. Meals onboard and accommodation included.
