Remote, exclusive, idyllic; perfect for couples

Yasawa Islands, Fiji

Yasawa Island Resort & Spa

Our Rating

There are 15 words in the Fijian language meaning Heaven and “Yasawa” is first. Yasawa Island Resort and Spa is Heaven on Earth, an exclusive all-inclusive resort on one of the most remote and unspoiled islands of Fiji. Just 18 luxury bungalows are hidden among the palms, each just a few steps from a pristine white beach. Swim in crystal clear waters, explore 10 private beaches, dive on vividly coloured corals, connect with an ancient culture or indulge in Fiji's first beachfront spa. Whatever you choose to do at Yasawa, you'll do it in complete seclusion.

The 18 traditionally thatched, beachfront bures are understated in their luxury. Nestled among the palms, each air-conditioned bure has a discreet outdoor shower; an expansive deck with daybeds to wile away the afternoons; a separate living area with mini bar and iPod docking station; a hammock strung between the palms; incredible views of the ocean and your own thatched cabana with sun loungers on the edge of Yasawa's famous white sand beach.

For a little downtime, the infinity pool and deck are a great place to relax and enjoy some time in the sun and a few cocktails from the bar. No stay would be complete without a visit to the Baravi Spa, Fiji’s first beachfront spa, just metres from the ocean’s edge on a sweep of soft white sand. Baravi’s graceful make-up is complimented by a blend of traditional and contemporary design, with spa staff trained to benchmarked standards. An indulgence spa package is available allowing a 50-minute treatment every day of your stay, perfect for the “spa-aholic”. Must be pre-booked and costs £325 per person.

On an island overlooked by the modern world, Yasawa offers an intimate and authentic cultural experience. With the permission of the chief, guests can visit the nearby village of Bukama where school children offer a welcome in song. Or at the resort take part in a Lovo, witness an evening Meke or sense the full resonance of Fijian voices when the village choir pays a visit on Sunday evenings.
