Visit Zululand and perhaps take the optional game drive to a game reserve that is renowned for its conservation of the black & white rhino, before heading to Durban to sample the golden beaches of the Indian Ocean. You will travel along the spectacular Garden Route and see some amazing scenery as you visit Knysna and Oudtshoorn. For all wine lovers, take the option to stay one night in Franschhoek in the heart of the Cape Winelands, before finally ending your tour in beautiful Cape Town.

Day 1 : Johannesburg

On arrival in Johannesburg Airport you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel. At 7pm meet at reception for a briefing on the tour and a chance to meet fellow travellers. 

Day 2 : Mpumalanga

Depart after breakfast for Pretoria and enjoy a short orientation tour before continuing to the Mpumalanga province. After traversing the famous Long Tom Pass arrive late afternoon into Hazyview, the safari hub of the Kruger National Park.

Day 3 : Mpumalanga

After an early morning breakfast, drive along the spectacular Panorama Route, offering views of amazing scenery including the 26 kilometre-long Blyde River Canyon and a breathtaking view (weather permitting) of the edge of the escarpment taking in the Kruger National Park.

Day 4 : Mpumalanga

Your day begins early with an open vehicle safari through Kruger National Park, one of the world’s greatest national parks. Search for the ‘Big Five’ (rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, and elephant). The afternoon is at leisure at your hotel. Late afternoon open vehicle game drives are available (optional, not included).

Day 5 : Eswatini* (Swaziland)

This morning travel to Eswatini (Swaziland), an independent kingdom within the borders of South Africa, known for its lovely scenery, crafts and colourful indigenous culture. Travel via the capital city, Mbabane, to the beautiful Ezulwini valley for overnight stay. 

Day 6 : Zululand

After breakfast continue south to reenter South Africa. Travel into Zululand, There is an option to enjoy an afternoon  open vehicle safari (optional, not included) in the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve, which is particularly famous for its conservation of black and white rhino.

Day 7 : Durban

This morning join a cruise on Lake St Lucia (weather permitting) before departing for Durban. Arrive early afternoon and the enjoy time at leisure to on golden beaches of the Indian Ocean.

Day 8 : Knysna

After breakfast, transfer to Durban airport for the short flight to Port Elizabeth** where you will be met and once everyone has arrived, set off to explore the spectacularly beautiful Tsitsikamma national park and Storms River Mouth (weather permitting) before arriving at your hotel in Knysna, nestled in the heart of the Garden Route.

Day 9 : Knysna

Enjoy a morning lagoon cruise to the featherbed nature reserve (weather permitting), where you can take a trailer ride to the top of the western head to enjoy panoramic views of the town and lagoon.

Day 10 : Oudtshoorn

Travel to Oudtshoorn, known as the “Ostrich Capital” and the centre of the world’s ostrich farming industry. Visit an ostrich farm for a guided tour and light lunch, before taking a tour of the spectacular limestone caverns of the Cango Caves, one of the world’s great natural wonders. Arrive at your hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 11 : Cape Town**

There is an option (cost not included) to enjoy an early morning Meerkat Safari. Witness these incredible creatures emerging out of their burrows in time to soak up the sun before they head about their daily activities (weather permitting). After breakfast, continue to Barrydale, where you will have the opportunity to visit a local farm school, interact with the children and teachers before travelling to Montagu, a picturesque and historic spa town (school visit is subject to the school being open). Continue to Cape Town, spectacularly set at the foot of Table Mountain.  

*** Overnight Winelands option: Replace tonight’s stay in Cape Town with one night in Franschhoek, a picturesque village surrounded by spectacular vineyards.  Stay overnight and tomorrow after a leisurely breakfast, your guide will take you through Franschhoek village, sharing with you the fascinating history and enjoy a wine tasting before continuing to Cape Town, where you will re-join the main tour.

Day 12 : Cape Town

Enjoy a full day at leisure. Although a small city, Cape Town is packed with sightseeing attractions, excellent bars, cafes and restaurants as well as colourful craft markets.

Day 13 : Cape Town

Enjoy a full day tour of the Cape Peninsula. Drive through sea point, the seaside village of Hout Bay and then on to Cape Point where (by tradition) it is said that the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. Return to Cape Town via Simon's Town, where you have the option to visit the penguin colony at Boulders Beach, Fish Hoek fishing village and Muizenberg.

Day 14 : Cape Town

Enjoy some last-minute shopping or sightseeing. You will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
