Day 1-3 : New York
On arrival in New York make your way to your hotel, then get ready to explore the Big Apple. Enjoy 3 days in New York; with an included flexible 2-day hop on / hop off tour pass and a harbour cruise, you can enjoy the sights at your own pace. Enjoy iconic landmarks, such as the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Centre and the Statue of Liberty, and the bright lights of Broadway and Times Square.

Day 4 : New York - Amtrak® - Chicago
Board the Lake Shore limited this afternoon and head for the mighty Midwest. Your roomette accommodation contains seating which converts to a bed at night, or you can upgrade to a bedroom with a private shower. Overnight on-board train: roomette with dinner and breakfast included
Day 5-7 : Chicago
Arrive mid-morning and make your way to your hotel. Chicago sits on the shore of Lake Michigan, the fifth largest body of fresh water in the world. The lakefront area is an inspiring stretch of coastline set against the backdrop of one of the world’s great city skylines. The central downtown core with offers numerous attractions, including some fabulous shopping, great nightlife and wonderful restaurants and bars. Enjoy the best of the sights with an included 24-hour hopper pass.
Day 8 : Chicago – Amtrak® - Denver
Take the afternoon departure of the California Zephyr and enjoy America’s majestic landscapes as you travel along the valleys and fields of the Midwest to the snow-capped peaks of the “Mile High City.” Overnight on-board, roomette accommodation with lunch and dinner included.
Day 9-10 : Denver
Enjoy breakfast on board before you arrive in Denver and make your way to your hotel. See the sights on your own today - visit City Park, a 330-acre urban park, the State Capitol, modeled after the United States Capitol and the Denver Art Museum. Tomorrow enjoy an included tour showcasing Colorado’s natural treasures, incredible wildlife and the Buffalo Bill Cody grave site and museum. (B)

Day 11 : Denver – Amtrak® - Salt Lake City
Re-board the California Zephyr for the journey to Salt Lake City, Utah’s friendly capital in a mountain setting. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 12 : Salt Lake City
A free day to explore the city, including Temple Square, a complex that houses the Mormon Temple, Tabernacle and several monuments; Pioneer Village, the grand State Capitol and Governor’s Mansion.
Day 13 : Salt Lake City – Amtrak® – San Francisco
Spend the day in Salt Lake City before your overnight train journey to San Francisco. Roomette accommodation.
Day 14-16 : San Francisco
Breakfast and lunch onboard before arriving in Emeryville and taking an included coach transfer to San Francisco. One of America’s best loved cities, it has an energetic, friendly atmosphere brimming with arts, culture, entertainment and stunning scenery. Visit the Golden Gate Bridge, the markets at Fisherman’s Wharf and the largest Chinatown in the United States. Experience it all with a 24-hour hopper pass and Golden Gate bay cruise.
