Vines were first planted in 1838 by the Ryrie brothers, on their property known today as Chateau Yering. The Mornington Peninsula is home to quaint coastal villages and hinterland hamlets, acclaimed wineries and restaurants, luxurious spas and renowned golf courses. Day 1 : Yarra Valley (38 miles)

On arrival in Melbourne collect your rental car and make the short drive to the Yarra valley and your hotel for the next three nights, the superb Chateau Yering. Spend the rest of the day enjoying your surroundings and perhaps tasting a wine or two in the cellar.

Day 2 : Yarra Valley (45 Miles)

This morning visit the Healesville Sanctuary and come close to wallabies, wombats, kangaroos, dingoes and a wide variety of native birds. Then head to the De Bortoli vineyards for a behind the scenes tour followed by a wine and cheese pairing. De Bortoli is one of the largest and most iconic vineyards in the Yarra valley.

Day 3 : Yarra Valley

A free day to relax or explore a few more vineyards.

Day 4 : Flinders (85 miles)

Spend the day taking a leisurely drive down the mornington peninsula to the quaint village of Flinders.On the way you can explore some of the many vineyards for which the peninsula is famous.

Day 5 : Flinders

A day to relax, have a coffee and stroll to the beach, or perhaps you’ll explore the seaside towns and villages.

Day 6 : Angelesea (230 miles)

Drive to Sorrento and take the ferry to Queenscliff. Then drive along the Great Ocean Road to the Twelve Apostles, carved out of the headland by the fierce waves of the Southern Ocean. The head inland to return to the Great Ocean Road Resort in Anglesea.

Day 7 : Anglesea

A day to relax and enjoy your boutique resort, explore the town or explore a little more.

Day 8 : Melbourne departure (80 miles)

It’s not far to the airport to drop your car and take your onward flight.
