Day 1 : Arrive Toronto

Upon arrival into Toronto airport pick up your rental car and make your way to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore this cosmopolitan city. Toronto offers endless dining and shopping venues as well as funky neighbourhoods. Perhaps visit the CN Tower one of Canada’s most recognisable and celebrated icons; standing 553 metres tall you will be greeted with panoramic views of the city, it really is a must-do whilst in Toronto.

Day 2 & 3 : Toronto - Elmhirst (95 miles)

The city fades away to forest enroute to the cottage resort of Elmhirst, just 90 minutes east of Toronto and located on the beautiful shores of Rice Lake. This large lakeside property, offers a collection of cottages nestled amongst the shore line with an array of outdoor activities for adults and children alike. Spend the next few days indulging in the great outdoors, chose from watersports, hiking, volleyball, tennis and much more. Visit the on-site farm, attend evening campfires and orienteering are just a few more of the adventures that await.

Day 4 & 5 : Elmhirst - Barry’s Bay & Masawaska Kanu (113 miles)

Leave Elmhirst behind today and head for the Canadian Canoe Museum, a visit here reveals the evolution of this ancient vessel. Travelling north, this wilderness resort is set in the maple woods, on the banks of the Madawaska River. Cabanas give guests the sense of camping with all the comforts of traditional accommodation. Trails lead away from the compound through quiet forests, and nearby waterways offer a place for a refreshing dip. A full day of canoeing, learning how to paddle a Canadian canoe on the lake, followed by a trip down the River.

Day 6 & 7 : Barry’s Bay - Foresters Falls & Owl Rafting Resort (58 miles)

After breakfast, travel into the hinterlands of Upper Canada and arrive at the OWL Rafting resort for your two day stay in a private cabin. Enjoy the waterfront resort, practise your paddling strokes and get ready for a full day of rafting on the Ottawa River, a real highlight of this trip. Take part in evening fireside activities, indulge in delicious meals and snacks and of course make use of all the resort’s amenities on offer to you.

Day 8 : Owl Rafting Resort - Ottawa (75 miles)

From forest to city, drive to Canada’s capital Ottawa today. Upon arrival drop your car off at the rental depot, the rest of the day is free to explore. Perhaps take the opportunity to walk the paths alongside the Rideau Canal, or visit the many public spaces surrounding the Parliament Buildings.

Day 9 : Ottawa - Toronto

This morning say goodbye to Ottawa and head to the train station to catch the VIA Rail to Toronto. Enjoy a relaxing trip on board VIA Rail allows time to reflect on the adventures of the last few days before arriving in Toronto this afternoon. Make your own way to the airport to board your flight or perhaps add a couple of extra nights in Toronto, please call for a price.
