Day 2 : Montréal to Saint-Alexis-des-Monts (87 mi)

Spend more time exploring Montréal before heading to Saint-Alexis-des-Monts, located in the heart of Québec, and bordering Mastigouche Wildlife Reserve. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax at beautiful Hotel Sacacomie or take part in one of the many outdoor activities that the Lodge offers, i.e. hiking, mountain biking, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, rabaska rafting, motor boat rentals, pedal boat rentals, ATV tours. Please note that many activities require reservations and will be at charge. Please enquire at the front desk upon check-in. (dinner included)

Day 3 : Hotel Sacacomie

The day is free to enjoy the many outdoor activities that the hotel offers or to simply relax.

Day 4 : Saint-Alexis-des-Monts to Lac Saint Jean (206 mi)

This will be your longest day of travelling, but your destination makes it worthwhile. Around Lac St-Jean, a huge freshwater lake left from the Ice Age, lies an area offering many cultural, outdoor and sports activities. Don’t forget to visit the Historic Village of Val-Jalbert! (breakfast included)

Day 5 : Visit of the Wild Zoo of Saint-Félicien and travel to Tadoussac (174 mi)

This morning you will have the opportunity to visit the famous Zoo of Saint Félicien (admission included). In the afternoon depart for Tadoussac, located along the shores of the St-Lawrence River. Tadoussac is very popular for its whale watching opportunities. Take time to explore one of the province’s most scenic areas, Charlevoix, the beauty of which has inspired generations of artists.

Day 6 : Whalewatching in Tadoussac and travel to Québec City (137 mi)

This morning you are booked on a whale watching tour. In Tadoussac, at the mouth of the Saguenay Fjord, you will board the vessel where an experienced naturalist will explain the habits of the inback, Minke and Beluga whales that frequent this region during the summer. In the afternoon continue along the St-Lawrence River towards Québec City - the historical and political capital of the Belle Province. After settling into your hotel or B&B, relax in one of the many cafés and stroll through the cobblestone streets of Québec City.

Day 7 : Explore Quebec City

Québec City is the heart of French Canada. Nowhere else in North America is the appearance and atmosphere of an old-world city so complete. Québec City looks and feels very European; perhaps that is why the entire old section of the town was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. Today is free to discover the charm of the city on your own.

Day 8-9 : Québec City - Montréal (156 mi) - UK

Head back to Montreal, passing many historical sites, such as Fort Chambly (where you could make a stop). Your tour ends in Montréal upon returning your rental car.
