The Calabash is a luxury boutique hotel, which is owned and managed by the Garbutt family who bought the hotel in 1987. Since then the Calabash evolved into the world class luxury resort it is today, and in 2020, Leo Garbutt even won hotelier of the year amongst the Caribbean hotel & tourism association. It is also part of the prestigious hotel group, Relais & Châteaux.
Having only 30 suites and 5 Estate Homes means that the hotel team are able to get to know their guests by name rather than by room number, and that enables them to build friendships that last long after guests leave.
The setting is simply breath-taking. The resort is surrounded by beautifully lush and landscaped gardens that lead out to the white-sand beach and turquoise waters.
Breakfast is served each day, with freshly cooked food on your balcony or terrace, or even down onto the beach. Meals for the rest of the day can be taken at the beach club restaurant or at the ‘Rhodes At Calabash Grenada’ which is one of three Gary Rhodes restaurants outside of the UK, and one of the most popular restaurants on the island.
There is an on-site dive centre to explore Grenada’s many shipwrecks and underwater sculpture park. There are also complementary non-motorised water sports available on the beach, and lots of other activities in the hotel such as tennis, a putting green, a bocce ball green, a giant chess board, and a fully equipped fitness centre. The hotel also offers regular activities to get involved in such as cooking demonstrations, yoga and rum tasting. For those that want to relax, ‘ The spa at Calabash’ offers an extensive menu of luxurious massages, facials and body treatments.

Restaurant and Bars
Rhodes at Calabash Grenada is one of the most popular restaurants on the island. Elegantly casual, it serves delightful cuisine with a distinct island flare and is one of only three Rhodes Restaurants found outside of the UK. There's a laid-back approach to breakfast here, and you can enjoy your freshly cooked à la carte meal with your toes buried in the sand on the beach, or in your private balcony.
For lunch, we recommend the Beach Club Restaurant where you can enjoy a full meal or delicious tapas bites accompanied by a refreshing cocktail, with superb panoramic views over the bay.
