Day 1 : Salt Lake City
Arrive in Salt Lake City today and collect your car hire. Make the short drive to your downtown hotel with the rest of the day yours to relax or explore the vibrant downtown with its excellent restaurants, shopping and rich pioneering history.
Day 2 : Twin Falls (220 miles)
Travel north to Idaho today, where dramatic landscapes begin to unfold. Arrive in Twin Falls and discover the impressive Snake River Canyon and iconic Perrine Bridge, or visit nearby Shoshone Falls known as the ‘Niagara of the West’.
Day 3 : McCall (245 miles)
Journey through Idaho to the beautiful lakeside resort of McCall. Set on the shores of Payette Lake, McCall is renowned for its outdoor lifestyle, boutique shops and restaurants. Spend the evening strolling the waterfront.
Day 4 : McCall
Enjoy a day at leisure in McCall. Relax by the lake or enjoy a hike. The town’s laid-back atmosphere and beautiful surroundings make this one of Idaho’s favourite mountain retreats.
Day 5 : Sun Valley (180 miles)
Today’s scenic drive takes you south through the heart of Idaho to elegant Sun Valley, famed as America’s original ski resort destination, but equally as popular in the summer months too. Ride the gondola for panoramic mountain views, brows local galleries and boutiques or enjoy one of the many walking trails surrounding this beautiful mountain resort.
Day 6-7 : Sun Valley
The following two days are at leisure in Sun Valley. You may want to unwind at some of the area’s luxurious spas and award-winning restaurants, or experience fly fishing or horseback riding. Sun Valley’s relaxed pace and sophisticated atmosphere make it one of the highlights of any trip to Idaho.
Day 8 : Idaho Falls (190 miles)
Truly one of America’s hidden gems, Theodore Roosevelt National Park is full of scenic drives through striking Badlands landscapes where bison, wild horses, prairie dogs and bighorn sheep roam. During your stay, visit the remarkable new Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library, and inspiring architectural landmark celebrating Roosevelt’s conservation legacy.
Day 9 : Jackson (95 miles)
Cross into Wyoming through the spectacular Teton region to Jackson. This vibrant, quintessentially western town is known for its iconic elk antler arches, restaurants, and shopping. Settle into your hotel and enjoy a taste of cowboy country at the perfect jumping off point for both Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.
Day 10 : Grand Teton National Park
Spend the day exploring Grand Teton National Park. Visit Jenny Lake, Snake River Overlook and the historic barns at Mormon Row as you catch a glimpse of moose, elk and bald eagles.
Day 11 : Yellowstone National Park
Cross the Bighorn Mountains before arriving in Cody, founded by the legendary Buffalo Bill Cody. Spend the afternoon exploring the lively western town.
Day 12 : Jackson
A final day in Jackson allows you to experience more of the region. You might want to take a wildlife safari, a scenic float on the river or a horseback ride or relax and soak up the atmosphere of one of the Great American West’s most charming mountain towns.
Day 13 : Park City (355 miles)
Return to Utah arriving in the stylish mountain resort of Park City. Home to luxury hotels as well as boutiques and a multitude of restaurants set along historic Main Street, it’s the perfect stop for your final night.
Day 14 : Salt Lake City departure (35 miles)
The best way to explore the expanse of Yellowstone is by an organised day tour. We have included a full-day 10-hour tour today. Your tour covers the entire Grand Loop Road, with stops at Lake Yellowstone, Upper and Lower Falls, Canyon Village, Mammoth Hot Springs and Fountain Paint Pots with plenty of stops for wildlife along the way.
