Day 1 : UK-Atlanta
Arrive in Atlanta and make your way to your hotel. This vibrant city is the cultural hub of the state of Georgia. The rest of the day is free to explore.
Day 2 : Atlanta
Explore Atlanta and see sites such as the birthplace of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library & Museum, CNN Studios, the World of Coca-Cola and the Virginia-Highland District, Atlanta’s most popular neighbourhood for shopping, dining and nightlife.
Day 3 : Savannah
Savannah boasts leafy streets and gorgeous architecture, elegant houses and antebellum mansions.
Day 4 : Savannah
Today you may wish to take a trolley tour of Savannah’s hundreds of restored buildings spanning 3 centuries worth of architectural styles. For shopping, City Market and the Bay Street area are known for their quaint shops and galleries.
Day 5 : Charleston
Travel through the Lowcountry to Charleston in South Carolina. Explore some of the city’s carefully preserved 18th and 19th century homes which offer a glimpse into the lives of pre-Civil War Southern wealth and the history of the ‘Old South’.
Day 6 : Charleston
Visit Fort Sumter and take a short drive to visit some of the numerous plantations and gardens just outside of Charleston.
Day 7 : Columbia
Travel from Charleston to Columbia, South Carolina's capital city, set along the banks of the Congaree River. Settle into your hotel with time to explore the Congaree Vista, a former warehouse district now filled with galleries, shops and restaurants, or take in the grounds of the historic State House.
Day 8 : Greenville
Continue north through the Piedmont to Greenville, a city built around the Reedy River. At its heart is Falls Park on the Reedy, where a pedestrian bridge suspends visitors over a dramatic waterfall in the middle of downtown. Main Street is lined with shops, restaurants and public art, making it one of the most walkable downtowns in the South.
Day 9 : Asheville
Travel into the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina to Asheville, a city famed for its Art Deco architecture, mountain views and thriving arts and food scene. Spend the afternoon browsing the River Arts District, once home
Day 10 : Asheville
Today you may wish to visit the Biltmore Estate, America's largest privately owned home, set on landscaped grounds designed by Frederick Law Olmsted. Alternatively, downtown Asheville offers independent boutiques, historic architecture and one of the country's highest concentrations of craft breweries.
Day 11 : Atlanta Departure-UK
Make the drive back to Atlanta today to return your rental car ahead of your departing flight as your journey of America’s south comes to an end.
