Day 3 : Kuala Lumpur

This morning you will join a guided city tour of Kuala Lumpur.   A must-do tour for first time visitors to Kuala Lumpur, this fascinating tour unveils both the beauty and charm of the old town, and the dynamism of new Kuala Lumpur – Garden City of Light. Highlights include the Petronas Twin Towers, King’s Palace and National Mosque, along with visits to the National Monument and National Museum. This afternoon is at leisure, you may wish to explore the local street food stalls or head back to Hotel Stripes and take a dip in the swimming pool.

Transfer from your hotel to the Petronas Twin Towers, the tallest twin towers in the world, for panoramic views and photo opportunities of the surrounding area (not including the entry ticket to the skybridge). From here walk to Saloma Link Bridge, a connection bridge which takes you onto Kampung Baru. Begining in the Malay village "Kampung Baru", stroll down the streets where Malaysian-style food stalls sprout like mushrooms. Marvel at the contrast of traditional small Malay houses against the backdrop of the famous KL twin towers and huge skyscrapers. Stop at one of the food stalls to try some of the local Malay dishes such as “kuih’ and sweet treats, as well as the famous Malaysian breakfast “Nasi Lemak”, “roti canai” and “Teh Tarik”.

Depart from Kampong Baru to the oldest mosque in Kuala Lumpur, Masjid Jamek. The mosque was originally built by Muslim traders from India during the British colonial period. Jamek Mosque was the main mosque for Friday prayers and the center of Islamic activities until the construction of the National Mosque in 1967. Following this, venture into Little India where your walk will take you past colourful jewelry and saree shops. Stroll along the riverbank aka ‘River of Life’ and see the confluence of two rivers, the Klang River and Gombak Rivers, which gave name to Kuala Lumpur. Next, head to the historic sites Sultan Abdul Samad Building & Royal Selangor Club. The Sultan Abdul Samad Building is a late-nineteenth-century building located in front of Independence Square. The building originally housed the offices of the British colonial administration and was known simply as the Government Offices in its early years. The final stop of the tour is the Central Market, where you’ll discover a vibrant and bustling place selling handicrafts, batik, souvenirs, antiques, collectibles, and much more.

Day 4 : Penang

Time to check out and be transferred to the airport for your short flight to Penang. Penang is a mosaic of Malay, Chinese and Indian cultures, food and architecture. The vibrant capital, George Town, has a thriving street art scene and delicious street food options.  Your driver will transfer you to the charming Eastern & Oriental Hotel. Rich furnishings and historical artefacts can be found throughout this stunning hotel.  Check in and indulge in your suite facilities or take a short walk and explore George Town. This evening you will join a unique heritage food trail onboard a trishaw, travel and dine like a local.

Day 5 : Penang - Perth

This tour covers all the key sights of Penang Island. Start at the world’s 4th longest statue of The Reclining Buddha – Wat Chayamangkalaram before proceeding to the Dhammikarama Temple, an elaborately decorated Burmese Temple, which was the first Buddhist temple to be built in Penang in 1803. Next, you’ll drive past the Street of Harmony, home of Saint George’s Anglican Church (built 1818) and pass Kuan Yin – Goddess of Mercy Temple (Penang’s oldest Taoist temple built in the early 1800s when the Chinese settled in Penang), Sri Mariamman Temple (the oldest Hindu temple) and Masjid Kapitan Keling (the oldest Indian Muslim mosque). Explore the highly ornate clan house of Khoo Kongsi, followed by a visit to a local coffee shop. Finally, there is a brief photo stop at Fort Cornwallis, the location where Francis Light and crew first landed in Penang in 1786.

Return to your hotel where there is time to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings before your flight to Perth.

Day 6 : Perth

Nestled between Indian Ocean beaches and winelands, Perth/Boorloo offers great city living nestled in nature. Discover unique wildlife encounters, vast scenic parks and the sparkling Swan River but also a thriving metropolis of small bars, creative restaurants and street art. It’s all here, in the one sunny city, filled with friendly and welcoming people. With 19 stunning beaches within easy reach of the city, relaxing by the ocean is never far away. While you’re there savour delicious local seafood and wine as the sun sinks into the Indian Ocean. Tour Kings Park/Kaarta Koomba with an Aboriginal guide or cruise along the river to the Swan Valley, Western Australia’s oldest wine region on Whadjuk Noongar Country, and indulge in food, wine and art. Swim with playful wild dolphins, take a boat cruise to spot migrating whales, kayak to islands with seals and quokkas at Rottnest Island/Wadjemup, Perth’s very own idyllic playground.

Day 7 : Perth

This tour provides you with an opportunity to experience Perth and Fremantle. Commencing in Perth, the tour takes in all major attractions of Perth's city centre, including the Western Australian Cricket Ground (WACA), Elizabeth Quay and the Perth Mint. Visit Kings Park Botanical Gardens, where you will have time to experience a walk through the tree canopies on the Tree Top Walk way or take in the stunning views from the war memorial back over the city skyline. Continue through to the affluent Western suburbs of Perth, known as Millionaire’s Row before reaching Cottesloe Beach. Travel to historic Fremantle viewing the impressive facades of this heritage listed city.

Day 8 : Rottnest Island day trip

Explore Rottnest Island, a car-free sanctuary and pocket paradise just a short ferry ride from Fremantle (30 mins with sealink or Journey Beyond). Rottnest boasts 63 stunning beaches and 20 crystal-clear bays, offering plenty of secluded spots for swimming, sunbathing, snorkelling, and diving. Discover the quokkas, small smiling marsupials considered the world’s happiest animal. The island’s diverse wildlife life is just as breathtaking as its landscapes. Join a guided eco-tour or adventure cruise to spot dolphins, seals, and migrating whales. On land, hire a bike or e-bike to cycle along scenic trails, winding past salt lakes, lighthouses, and panoramic lookouts.

Day 9-10 : Perth - Margaret River

Pick up your rental car and head south to Mandurah, a laid-back coastal town just an hour from Perth. Stroll the vibrant foreshore, cruise the canals to spot dolphins, or explore wetlands by kayak or BBQ boat.

Alternatively, drive 45 minutes to Rockingham for a marine adventure with Perth Wildlife Encounters — swim with wild dolphins, snorkel with sea lions, or enjoy it all from the boat with a seafood lunch.

Continue south to the Margaret River Region, stopping in Busselton to walk the historic jetty or visit the Underwater Observatory. Follow the coast past Cape Naturaliste for scenic trails and whale sightings, then arrive in Margaret River’s lush mix of forest, vineyards, and dramatic coastline.

Day 11-12 : Margaret River Region

Spend two days in one of Australia’s top wine regions, tasting premium wines paired with local cheeses, seafood, and handmade chocolates.

Explore limestone caves like Mammoth, Lake, and Jewel, or unwind on stunning beaches such as Meelup or Surfers Point. Hike through Boranup Forest or along the Cape to Cape Track for breathtaking views.

In the evening, enjoy gourmet dining and wrap up your day with a wildlife tour from South West Eco Discoveries.

Day 13-14 : Pemberton - Albany

Head southeast toward Albany, passing through peaceful countryside and forest reserves. Along the way, you can stop for short hikes or scenic lookouts. This is a great day to experience a section of the famous Bibbulmun Track, one of Australia’s longest walking trails. As you approach Albany, the coastal views become more dramatic, with windswept beaches and tall cliffs framing the Southern Ocean.

Day 15-16 : Albany to Esperance

Continue east along the wild southern coastline to Esperance. The drive itself is stunning, passing remote national parks, windswept cliffs, and hidden coves. If time allows, explore Fitzgerald River National Park along the way, known for its rare flora and dramatic landscapes.

Day 17 : Esperance to Hyden

Leave the coast behind as you travel north through outback country to Hyden. This small town is best known as the home of Wave Rock, a striking 15-metre-high granite formation shaped like a giant surf wave, thought to be over 2.7 billion years old. Take time to walk around the rock, learn about its cultural significance to local Noongar people, and explore nearby formations like Hippo’s Yawn.
