An Indian Pacific Odyssey
Day 1 : Arrive Adelaide
Arrive into Adelaide and take your private transfer to your hotel. The remainder of your day is at leisure. Soak up Adelaide’s colonial elegance in the spacious green parklands, bustling Adelaide Central Markets and the museums and libraries of North Terrace.
Day 2 : Adelaide - Kangaroo Island
Take a private transfer to Adelaide airport for your flight to Kangaroo Island. Travel through eucalyptus groves and farmland to Lathami Conservation Park; enjoy lunch with wine before visiting the Seal Bay Conservation Park for stunning view of a sea-lion colony, then check into your hotel.
Day 3 : Kangaroo Island - Adelaide
Visit the Flinders Chase National Park, home to kangaroos, wallabies and koalas. Visit a fur seal colony and view the remarkable rocks. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush before returning to the airport for your flight to Adelaide. On arrival you’ll be taken to your hotel.
Day 4 : Barossa Valley
Today’s excursion takes you out to the Barossa Valley, one of Australia’s premier wine producing regions. Visit the Barossa reservoir, take a behind the scenes tour and tasting at Richmond Grove Wines. Enjoy lunch before driving through the Adelaide Hills to Hahndorf, Australia’s oldest German settlement, with arts and crafts and traditional bakers evoking smells of Bavaria.
Day 5 : Adelaide - Indian Pacific
Enjoy a morning at leisure before your private transfer to the station for the evening departure of the Indian Pacific. Relax in the Outback Explorer lounge with fellow travellers; dinner is served in the elegant Queen Adelaide restaurant.
Day 6 : Indian Pacific
Wake up to the wonders of the Nullarbor Plain as your journey continues towards Perth. Arrive at Cook with a population of just four for a quick leg stretch. Arrive at Rawlinna at 6.40pm and enjoy an outback lamb roast dinner under the stars before leaving at 9pm.
Day 7 : Arrive Perth
Enjoy breakfast before arriving into Perth at 3pm. Your private transfer will take you to your hotel and once checked in you can explore Perth on your own. Sitting on the banks of the Swan River, it has the largest British population of any Australian city, a laid back atmosphere and brilliant sunshine record. Perhaps you’ll embrace Perth’s relaxed magic with a sunset drink on Cottlesloe Beach.
Day 8 : Perth & Fremantle sightseeing
Discover the best of Perth and Fremantle this morning. Your tour showcases Perth’s unique architecture and historic buildings including the Governor’s Residence and Council House, Parliament House and the Kings Park with views over the city. See England’s nemesis, the famous WACA Cricket ground, Cottesloe Beach and the river suburbs of Fremantle. Then join a cruise back along the Swan River to Perth, past the homes of some of Australia’s rich and famous, the Royal Perth Yacht Club and the University of Western Australia. The rest of the day is free to explore on your own.
Day 9 : Perth departure
Take an included shuttle transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
