Day 1&2 : Depart UK to Kuala Lumpur

Board your overnight flight to Kuala Lumpur on board Malaysia Airlines. On arrival you will be met by your private vehicle and driver for a 60 mins transfer to your accommodation. This evening, settle into Hotel Stripes, head to the rooftop pool bar where cocktails await and your first glimpse of the Petronas Towers.

Day 3 : Kuala Lumpur

Your guide will meet you this morning to take you on a unique walking tour of the city. In addition to key points of historical interest, you will stop en-route at Malaysian style food stalls where you can sample local savouries, including “kuih” and desserts. Lunch is served at the Orbit Revolving Restaurant before you are transferred to the famous Batu Caves. Tonight is a thrilling city tour as you are chauffeur driven on a Vespa where the night markets spring into life and locals pull out their best table wear and culinary skills to host you at their table.

Day 4 : Georgetown, Penang

Enjoy a free day to explore Kuala Lumpur independently. Visit the iconic Petronas Towers, shop in world-class malls, explore temples and markets, or relax at your hotel.

Day 5 : Georgetown

Transfer privately to the airport and fly to Penang. On arrival, enjoy a private transfer to your historic hotel in George Town. Spend the afternoon soaking up the colonial charm or sampling the island’s famous cuisine.

Day 6 : Penang - Perth

An early start and time to say goodbye to the Malaysia Peninsula as your 6 hr flight connects to Perth. Welcome to Perth, your driver will transfer you to the Intercontinental City Hotel Perth in the heart of the city. This evening, you will join a small group Street Art & Bar Tour, painted walls bring side streets to life, think story telling and a bar where the main ingredient is Tequilla. Soft drinks also available!

Day 7 : Perth - Busselton (138 miles)

This morning collect your car and drive south towards Rockingham for a swim with dolphin encounter, spectators most welcome. View the local bottlenose dolphin, be educated by marine biologists as you snorkel in the turquoise waters whilst your crew prepare a sumptuous buffet lunch. Next stop Busselton for your overnight stay. Hop onboard the train which travels the full length of the largest timber jetty in the Southern Hemisphere to the observatory at the end. In the evening we recommend dinner and beer tasting at Shelter Brewery Company opposite the Hilton Garden Inn Busselton Hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 8 : Busselton – Yallingup – Margaret River Region (30 miles)

Today you will experience some of the most unique experiences within the region, from story telling by didgeridoo deep inside a cave to walking part of the Cape-to-Cape track and wine tasting at Leeuwin Estate. By dusk the locals; come to life, cameras ready as you join a nocturnal wildlife bush walk.

Day 9 : Margaret River Region (55 miles)

Enjoy a leisurely start to your day and drive to Gnarabup where you will find a stunning beach café for breakfast. Maybe time to dip your toe before you continue to Margaret River town. Here you will find local arts, crafts and stock up any provisions for your “Home” back at Smiths Beach Resort. No trip to Margaret River is complete without a visit, tour or tasting at the Vasse Felix Cellar Door. We have included a wine tasting and lunch pairing in one of Australia’s most acclaimed restaurants.

Day 10 : Yallingup – Fremantle - Rottnest Island (158 miles + Ferry)

Drive north to Fremantle, a historical and port suburb 20 minutes outside of Perth, If you dare join a guided tour of Fremantle Prison, storytelling brings the harsh reality of what life was like behind bars. Later, embark on a 30mins ferry crossing to Rottnest Island for an overnight stay with a difference. Just a short 12 mins walk from the wharf, you will be met by the “locals”, Quokkas, deemed to be the happiest animal on the planet. Arrive at your overnight unique eco accommodation at Discovery Resorts – Rottnest Island.

Day 11 : Rottnest Island – UK (Ferry + 13 miles)

Wake to the sounds of the ocean and take a stroll along the white sands of Pinky’s Beach before breakfast is served. Collect your e-bike and spend the day exploring the island on 2 wheels. Visit deserted beaches to cool off, no doubt a Quokka selfie is on the list of things to do before departing the island later this afternoon. Arrive at Fremantle, collect your vehicle and enjoy dinner before you head to the airport for your flight back to the UK.

 

(Alternatively, you may wish to stopover in Malaysia or board the iconic Indian Pacific train to Sydney).

Day 12 : Arrive UK

Enjoy a final morning on Rottnest Island before returning to Perth and boarding your overnight flight back to London, concluding your Wheels, Wine & Wildlife adventure.
