Start your Australian wildlife exploration by meandering up the West Coast of Australia on this suggested round trip from Perth. Park up at a secluded beach and feel the sand between your toes, wake up early in Monkey Mia and watch the wild dolphins swim ashore, go sandboarding in the Pinnacles and tour Kalbarri National Park.  Whilst we have recommended your route, wherever you want your 4 wheeled home to take you, then the freedom is all yours. Next stop South Australia and onto Kangaroo Island for a guided overnight stay. Over a third of the island is protected in nature reserves. You can be sure to take home a camera full of photos of sea lions, koalas, penguins and an array of diverse bird species.  This tour really is Australis’s wildlife at it’s very best.

Day 1&2 : Depart UK

Board your overnight flight to Perth from your preferred airport. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your accommodation for a 2-night stay. Western Australia has the country’s sunniest capital; Perth is a vibrant, modern and picturesque city with an enviable setting on the banks of the Swan River. You’ll find bustling markets, excellent shopping and a host of bars and restaurants where al fresco dining is the way to go.

Day 3 : Rottnest Island, Perth

Today you will have plenty of opportunity to capture that all important quokka selfie, known as the “world’s happiest animal”. Set sail on a 90-minute cruise to Rottnest Island. We have included a bus tour on the island where your guide will point out the island’s most spectacular locations whilst highlighting “Rotto’s” unique flora, fauna, history and culture. Enjoy lunch, which is included, you may wish to take a short walk or paddle your toes from one of the many beaches, keep your eyes peeled for Bottlenose Dolphins which are frequently spotted. This evening back in Perth city, the evening is at leisure.

Day 4 : Cervantes – Pinnacles (125 miles)

Time to collect your very own home on wheels and take to the open road at your own pace, we have made an itinerary suggestion, the choice is yours. Your first stop is the coastal town of Cervantes just a short drive from the Nambung National Park and the Pinnacles Desert. Walk amongst thousands of towering limestone structures formed more than 25,000 years ago.

Day 5 : Kalbarri (240 miles)

You may wish to start your day early as there are plenty of interesting stops enroute. Leuser National Park is a must visit for flora and keen “twitchers” as over 100 species of birds depend on the wildflowers for survival. Continue to Kalbarri and view magnificent sandstone gorges.

Day 5 : Kalbarri

Enjoy Kalbarri National Park and be sure to visit the incredible pink lake at Port Greory’s Hutt.

Day 6&7 : Denham (Monkey Mia) (235 miles)

Make your way to Denham, gateway to Shark Bay World Heritage Area. In Monkey Mia see the resident wild dolphins as they come ashore to feed. The dolphins are protected by Western Australia’s Parks and Wildlife Service.

Day 8 : Denham (Monkey Mia)

Today you can choose to experience the marine life on a kayaking adventure. Paddle out in search of turtles, rays, sharks, fish, birds and the elusive dugong when in season.

Day 9 : Geraldton (260 miles)

Tonight, overnight in Geraldton, a large coastal city. You may choose to visit the HMAS Sydney 11 Memorial and the WA Museum Geraldton to learn more about the region’s maritime history and storytelling.

Day 9 : Perth (260 miles)

From Geraldton, drive onwards towards Perth. A detour through Mullewa, showcases another wildflower hotspot. From there follow the inland route to Perth, taking in the he impressive sights of Three Springs, Watheroo National Park, Moora and Avon Valley National Park.

Day 11&12 : Adelaide

Return your motorhome before boarding your flight to Adelaide. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your accommodation for 2-night stay. Gateway to the outback, fabulous wine regions and the Murray River, Adelaide has everything – wildlife, Aboriginal culture, beaches and a great food and nightlife scene. It’s sophisticated in an understated sort of way and generations of Italians have created a Mediterranean style café culture that lends itself perfectly to the Aussie way of life.

 

 

Day 13 : Kangaroo Island

Time for an early start, we recommend you travel with an overnight bag and a good pair of walking shoes. You will be transferred by coach and ferry over to Kangaroo Island, every nature lover’s dream come true. From some of the best beaches in the world to incredible native animals, kangaroos, sea lions, seals, and koalas, Kangaroo Island is truly nature’s playground. With iconic landmarks, Remarkable Rocks and Admiral's Arch, one can easily spend days being mesmerised by the beauty of the island. Discover Kangaroo Island’s rich landscape, pristine beaches and local produce. You will join a guided 2-day, one night tour. Experienced guides will know exactly where sleepy koalas hang out and seals sunbathe. Upgrades to a fly/fly and extended stays on the island, If times allows are recommended, please request further details.

Day 14&15 : Adelaide

Time to head back on the ferry and coach transfer back to Adelaide for a 2-night stay. We recommend for those guests more active an e bike tour of the vineyards in the beautiful Adelaide Hills. Cycle through stunning vineyards for exclusive wine tasting or go strawberry picking, in season. Something more laid back, then join a guided day to the Barossa Valley, you will be sure to recognise names of the Cellar Doors, Jacobs Creek for one. This region of South Australia is a taste sensation. .

Day 16 : Depart Adelaide

This evening you will be transferred to Adelaide airport for your return flight to the UK.
