1. Explore the iconic city of Sydney
Sydney’s many attractions are some of Australia’s most recognised landmarks, from the Sydney Harbour Bridge to the Opera House. Capital of New South Wales, Sydney, is jam-packed with world-class restaurants, galleries and museums all set on this stunning waterfront location. Whether you wander through the Royal Botanic Gardens, go shopping at the bustling markets and historic arcades or climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge, there is plenty to do for everyone. 


2. Swim at Bondi Icebergs, an international landmark at Bondi Beach
Sydney is also known for its excellent beaches. Learn to surf at Bondi Beach or go for a swim at Bondi Icebergs, dating back to 1928 this ocean side club features a larger lap pool as well as a smaller kid’s pool offering you the ultimate swimming experience. Swim in ocean water with an incredible view of the ocean, get a drink, some food and unwind with some great company.


3. Visit the famous Steve Irwin Zoo
Located an hour north of Brisbane on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Australia Zoo is home of The Crocodile Hunter. Home to animals from all over the world, this zoo is one of the most famous in Australia and dedicated to Steve Irwin. From the tiniest lizard to the tallest giraffe, the zoo provides a haven for over 100 different species including anaconda, dingo, emu, wombat, and kangaroos. 


4. Board the worlds steepest railway at Blue Mountains
Escape the hustle and bustle of Sydney and take a trip to the Scenic Railway at the Blue Mountains. Featuring epic rock formations and sprawling mountaintops this ancient region is 300 million years old. A 52° incline allows the scenic railway to weave down sandstone cliffs, dips into cliff tunnels then emerging to show incredible views of the Jamison Valley. Passengers can choose their level of adventure, adjusting their seated position up to 20 degrees. 


5. Visit the Three Sisters, Blue Mountains
65km west of the city, the mountains rise steeply, combining magnificent gorges, waterfalls, and rock formations such as the Three Sisters. Highlights of the Blue Mountains include hiking, rock climbing and mountain biking. The towering sandstone rock formations called the Three Sisters, rise over 3000 ft above sea level. Many different colours in the sandstone bring changing characteristics throughout passing days and seasons, meaning no matter when you plan to visit you will see something spectacular.


6. Take a picture with a Koala!
Seeing a cuddly koala is high on everyone’s bucket list when they visit Australia. Found in sanctuaries, conservation centres and zoos, this animal is now classified as a vulnerable species. Found mainly along the east coast, they spend their days sitting in eucalyptus trees eating up to 1kg worth of leaves and sleeping for up to 20 hours a day.


7. See Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast
Dreamy beaches and skyscrapers draw people into this iconic coastline, situated on the Gold Coast. Lots of cafés and nightclubs make this the perfect getaway for anytime of the year. Surfers Paradise Beach is famous worldwide and worth a visit, also home to the tallest building in Australia is Q1 Tower, a part of the impressive skyline here. 


8. Relax in Coffs Harbour
From bushwalking and whale watching to the iconic Big Banana, stunning beaches, a marine sanctuary and more, this coastal city north of Sydney is full of attractions for all the family. Make memorable adventures by taking advantage of the gorgeous weather and sandy beaches. Located almost halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, it is easy to get to on a self-drive holiday.
