1. What's an iconic moment you did during your trip?

My favourite moment of the whole trip was spending the evening at Killarney Mountain Lodge. As a group we enjoyed an BBQ dinner with freshly cooked bison burgers and lovely salads. We then spent the evening on sunset sail cruise around the waters close by to Killarney. The following day we spent the day with Killarney Outfitters who offer am all inclusive outfitting package including high quality canoes and kayaks and equipment and clothing.

We went canoeing George Lake and then in the afternoon, took a 45 minute boat ride to the secluded islands and enjoyed a shore lunch with fresh fish fry with maple syrup beans. One of the nicest meals I've ever had.

2. What were the things you like the most from Canada?

I think Canada is a whole was so impressive to me. It isn’t a secret how friendly the locals are and how welcoming and hospitable restaurants are, but truly seeing this first hand really blew me away. The scenery and how pristine the lakes were when we were kayaking and how vast Lake Superior is truly took me by surprise - looks just like the pictures, it is immaculate.

3. What tips would you give to someone who is visiting Ontario for the first time?

Make sure you pack plenty of layers as the weather can change quite quickly. Sunny in the morning then wet in the afternoon. Also I found it got cold at night time so make sure you bring plenty of windproof, waterproof clothing and walking shoes.

For me the best time of year was going in September time. This time of year, is perfect to see the trees change colour as well so the landscape can completely change between from one day to the next you get to see the beautiful red autumn landscapes coming through.

4. Why would you recommend Northern Ontario?

I would recommend a self-drive around Northern Ontario as you truly get to see the wilderness and the vast landscapes and the beautiful lakes at this great lake region has to offer and there's definitely a reason why it's known as the Great lakes. Drive down the highways. Pull into some secluded beaches and truly be by yourselves.
