Day 1-2 : UK - Siem Reap

Your tuk-tuk awaits. Your driver is one of the women from the Lady Tuk-Tuk Drivers Cooperative, a group founded to provide women in Siem Reap with the opportunity to earn an income and support themselves, their families and their communities. Hop aboard and whizz through Siem Reap en route to another community tourism initiative, Spoons Restaurant. Welcome to Siem Reap, and to Cambodia – your journey begins with an opportunity to become part of the community. Spoons Restaurant hosts your first meal in Cambodia. The restaurant provides vocational training for young people in the service industry, while serving delicious Cambodian specialities including Num Kruk, a crisp corn and coconut dumpling, and Steak Lok Lak. A delicious introduction to Cambodia, with a positive impact at its heart. (B, D)

Overnight: Lynnaya Urban River Resort & Spa (or similar) – 3 nights

Day 3 : Siem Reap

There is perhaps no better way to understand a culture than through its food. Spend the morning exploring the local market with a chef, discovering the aromas and flavours of local ingredients, before continuing to Chreav village, just outside Siem Reap. Here, join the chef to prepare a selection of delicious local dishes. With a full belly, the afternoon is yours to choose. Set off on an exhilarating cycle through small villages, ending in time to enjoy a peaceful sunset over the rice paddies with a cold drink. Alternatively, take a scenic boat journey to the magnificent Tonle Sap and Kampong Khleang Floating Village. Pass stilt houses, observe daily life and discover the marine flora and fauna along the way. (B, L)

Day 4 : Siem Reap

The ruins of Angkor Wat stand as a testament to Cambodia’s fascinating history. Slowly being reclaimed by the surrounding jungle, these remarkable monuments continue to stand proudly, offering a glimpse into the grandeur of the Khmer Empire. Your friends from the Lady Tuk-Tuk Drivers Cooperative greet you again before sunrise and whisk you to Angkor Wat. With your fellow travellers and expert local guide, witness a magical sunrise over the ruins before continuing to explore Angkor Thom and Ta Prohm. The rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure – perhaps taking a well-deserved rest or cooling off with a dip in the pool. (B)

Day 5 : Cardamom Mountains

Established in 1993, Botum Sakor National Park in southern Cambodia is home to the Cardamom Mountains, one of Asia’s seven remaining elephant corridors. Despite threats from illegal logging and wildlife poaching, this remote wilderness is protected by an alliance of organisations. Your exclusive stay at Cardamom Tented Camp helps fund the Wildlife Alliance and its partners in protecting this vital habitat, home to gibbons, pangolins and hornbills. After a short flight and transfer west, board a small boat and travel down the Prek Tachan River, watching for birds along the way. Arrive at camp and settle into your tent before enjoying a homemade Cambodian meal. As night falls, look up to admire the spectacular stars above the jungle. (B, L, D)

Overnight: Cardamom Tented Camp (or similar) – 2 nights

Day 6 : Cardamom Mountains

Wake to the sounds of birds and monkeys in your safari-style glamping tent before setting out to explore the Cardamom Mountains. Kayak downriver towards the old ranger station, then trek through lush forest along old logging trails, crossing streams along the way. Your local Cambodian guides share the history of this special place as you explore. Return to camp for another home-cooked Cambodian meal, then spend the afternoon at leisure. Swim in the river or kayak the narrow tributaries in search of birdlife. (B, L, D)

Day 7 : Koh Rong

When ancient seafarers first sighted Koh Rong, they were captivated by its beauty, naming it after a mythical cave or “shelter” hidden within its lush, emerald interior. While its white-sand beaches are world-renowned, the island’s heart is a dense rainforest filled with hidden lagoons, tropical birdlife and rare butterflies. Travel to Koh Rong and spend the afternoon exploring the island with your CEO, discovering its energetic towns and sun-drenched coves. In the evening, enjoy a BBQ seafood dinner – the perfect way to celebrate your first night on the island. (B, L, D)

Overnight: You & Me Resort (or similar) – 2 nights

Day 8 : Koh Rong

Discover Koh Rong’s natural beauty on a full-day exploration of its rainforest and coastal ecosystems. Trek through the island’s lush interior, discovering its vibrant flora and fauna and, in season, continuing to a secluded waterfall. After lunch, join professional kayak guides for an adventure through the quiet, winding mangroves, offering a unique perspective of the island’s serene waters. A full day of adventure and exploration in Koh Rong’s tropical paradise. (B, L)

Overnight: You & Me Resort (or similar)

Day 9 : Phnom Penh

Depart Koh Rong and return to mainland Cambodia before travelling to Phnom Penh, the City of Four Faces, where the Mekong, Bassac and Tonle Sap rivers converge. Here, Khmer traditions meet French colonial influences, creating a vibrant city shaped by both its rich heritage and complex past. Set out on a remork-moto tour, Cambodia’s quintessential form of transport, visiting the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and Wat Ounalom before enjoying dinner on the Tonle Sap River. (B, D)

Overnight: Sun and Moon Riverside Hotel (or similar)

Day 10-11 : Phnom Penh - UK

Today, your adventure comes to an end. We hope you have loved exploring Southeast Asia as much as we do. We promise you won’t need a holiday after your holiday, but we’re sure you’ll be ready for your next adventure. (B)
