This itinerary pairs the raw beauty of the Canadian North with a touch of wilderness luxury – the Yukon is a place where husky teams cut trails through untouched snow, and the northern sky puts on its greatest show.
Your adventure begins in Whitehorse, the gateway to the Yukon's vast backcountry, where two nights allow time to settle in before the real magic begins: a morning dogsled adventure through the region's pristine wilderness, guided by experienced mushers and eager teams of huskies carving their way across the frozen landscape.
A private charter plane then takes you above the frozen expanse, landing on a remote lake where you’ll arrive at the exclusive, off-grid Aurora Island. Here, snow-laden trees, a glistening frozen lake and endless skyscapes replace the noise of everyday life, and an Experience Director is on hand to shape every moment of your stay.
Days unfold at their own gentle pace with snowshoeing in search of fox and lynx tracks, ice fishing for lake trout and pike, and guided snowmobile expeditions along trails once travelled by Yukon Quest mushers, complete with a campfire lunch. Evenings are given over to indulgence with locally sourced, three-course dinners (perhaps even featuring your own catch of the day), long soaks in the sauna, and quiet evenings by the fire in hopes of catching the Aurora Borealis dancing overhead.
After two unforgettable nights on the island, a final scenic flight returns you to Whitehorse, memories of the northern lights and the surrounding wilderness travelling home with you.
