Day 1 : Arrive Halifax

Arrive in Halifax and make your way to your hotel.

Hotel: Cambridge Suites Halifax

Day 2 : Halifax - Port aux Basques, NL

Travel via Truro and Antigonish to Cape Breton Island for a relaxing overnight* crossing to Port aux Basques, Newfoundland.

*Ferry schedule changes may dictate a day crossing, in which case you would stay overnight in Port aux Basques.

Day 3 : Port aux Basques - Port au Choix

Drive through the Codroy Valley and through Gros Morne National Park to the fishing community of Port au Choix to learn of ancient cultures.

Day 4 : Port au Choix - L’Anse au Clair

Take a ferry across the Strait of Belle Isle to Labrador and visit Red Bay National Historic Site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 5 : L’Anse au Clair - St. Anthony

Return to Newfoundland and travel to L’Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site and hear of the Vikings who walked here over a thousand years ago.

Day 6 : St. Anthony - Cow Head

Enjoy a morning whale watching trip in St. Anthony before travelling to Cow Head in Gros Morne National Park for a two-night stay.

Day 7 : Gros Morne Touring

Discover why Gros Morne National Park is truly one of the highlights of your tour with a scenic boat tour; be on the look-out for the bald eagles that frequent the deep waters of the fjord while you hear the history of the villages nestled on the shores.

Day 8 : Cow Head - Gander

Have your camera at the ready as your time in Gros Morne National Park draws to a close. Later, travel through Central Newfoundland to Gander.

Day 9 : Twilingate Touring

A scenic drive along the rocky coast of Notre Dame Bay leads to beautiful Twilingate where you will visit Long Point Lighthouse and the Prime Berth Fishery & Heritage Centre.

Day 10 : Gander - Clarenville

Visit Terra Nova National Park, keeping your camera to hand for wildlife along the way; learn about the hard life of the light keepers at Cape Bonavista Lighthouse Provincial Historic Site and stroll through the lanes of charming town of Trinity where you will see several historic buildings.

Day 11 : Clarenville - St. John’s

The intriguing old seaport of St. John’s is North America’s oldest city and Newfoundland’s capital, in a stunning location in the granite cliffs and slopes of the Avalon Peninsula. A city tour showcases the Victorian architecture of the downtown area, the busy modern waterfront, the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Confederation Building, and the panoramic view from Signal Hill.

Hotel for two nights: Delta St. John’s

Day 12 : St. John's

This morning enjoy a boat tour in the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve to search for puffins and other seabirds. The afternoon is free.

Day 13 : Depart St. John’s

Make your way to the airport for your onward flight.
