Day 1 : Whitehorse

Welcome to the “Land of the Midnight Sun”. Few cities in the world offer such rich access to pristine wilderness, yet still provide the amenities of a modern metropolis. Collect your car and drive to your hotel for a 2 night stay.

Day 2 : Whitehorse

Time to explore the region and take advantage of all that Whitehorse has to offer. Encompassing over 700 acres with various natural habitats, the Yukon Wildlife Preserve offers unparalleled wildlife viewing and photo opportunities.

Day 4 : Haines Junction (96 miles)

An easy drive along the historic Alaska Highway to Haines Junction. With a population of just 800 residents, fewer than the number of grizzly bears in Kluane National Park! Stay 2 nights in Haines Junction.

Day 4 : Kluane National Park (155 miles)

Leaving along the Haines Highway, the road climbs from the Chilkat River Valley to the windswept Chikat Pass.

Day 5 : Tok

Drive north along the shores of beautiful Kluane Lake and look out for Dall sheep grazing alongside the mountain slopes. Your journey continues on the famous Alaska Highway to Tok, often referred to as the “Dog Mushing Capital of Alaska”.

Day 6 : Dawson City (185 miles)

The Top of the World Highway (please note this is a partly gravel road) brings you through spectacular backcountry and gold mining areas. When the highway reaches its highest elevation incredible views into far-reaching countryside open up. Before you reach Dawson City, you’ll cross the Yukon River by the ferry.

Day 7&8 : Dawson City

Two days stay in Dawson City, the heart of the Klondike Gold Rush. Be sure to see the SS Keno, the Jack London Interpretive Centre with the poet’s original cabin and “Can-Can” floor shows. Perhaps drive on the Ridge Road to the top of the Midnight Dome for views over Dawson, the Ogilvie Mountains, and the Yukon and Klondike Rivers.

Day 9 : Whitehorse (333 miles)

Enjoy the raw beauty of the landscape and call at the Five Finger Rapids and hike down to the shore of the Yukon River. Late afternoon you will reach Whitehorse for a final night.

Day 10 : Depart Whitehorse

Return your car and take your onward flight.
