Day 1 : Whitehorse

Welcome to the “Land of the Midnight Sun”. Few cities in the world offer such rich access to pristine wilderness, yet still provide the amenities of a modern metropolis. Collect your car and drive to your hotel for a two night stay.

Day 2 : Whitehorse (Yukon Wildlife Preserve)

Time to explore the region and take advantage of all that Whitehorse has to offer. Encompassing over 700 acres with various natural habitats, the Yukon Wildlife Preserve offers unparalleled wildlife viewing and photo opportunities

Day 3 : Whitehorse - Skagway (110 miles)

Travel the South Klondike Highway, a drive offering some spectacular scenery as it descends from the White Pass to Skagway in Alaska.

Day 4 : Skagway - Haines (5 miles plus ferry)

This afternoon take the scenic and relaxing ferry ride along the Lynn Canal, a fjord that is as beautiful and pristine as any in the world where fjord walls steeply rise from sea level to 7,000 feet, to Haines, located in the Valley of the Eagles.

Day 5 : Haines - Haines Junction (147 miles)

Drive over the Chilkat Pass, past Klukshu, a native summer fishing camp offering great photo opportunities and through the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve before arriving at Kluane National Park. The Kluane area covers the largest non-polar icefields in the world.

Day 6 : Kluane National Park (155 miles)

Leaving along the Haines Highway, the road climbs from the Chilkat River Valley to the windswept Chikat Pass. This is home to Canada’s highest peak and the world’s largest non-polar Icefields that lie behind the façade of mountains that provide the spectacular backdrop to Haines Junction.

Day 7 : Haines Junction - Tok (290 miles)

Drive north along the shores of beautiful Kluane Lake and look out for Dall sheep gracing alongside the mountain slopes. Your journey continues on the famous Alaska Highway to Tok, often referred to as the “Dog Mushing Capital of Alaska”.

Day 8 : Dawson City (185 miles)

The Top of the World Highway (please note this is a partly gravel road) brings you through spectacular backcountry and gold mining areas. When the highway reaches its highest elevation incredible views into far-reaching countryside open up. Before you reach Dawson City, you’ll cross the Yukon River by the ferry.

Day 9 &10 : Dawson City

Two days stay in Dawson City, the heat of the Klondike Gold Rush. An incredible community that has preserved it’s past, the town invites you to turn back the pages of time. Be sure to see the SS Keno, the Jack London Interpretive Centre with the poet’s original cabin, the city museum with audio-visual presentations, Dredge #4 – built in 1912 on famous Bonanza Creek, the Grand Palace Theatre and Diamond Tooth Gertie’s Casino with legal gambling tables and “ Can-Can” floor shows. Perhaps drive on the Ridge Road to the top of the Midnight Dome for views over Dawson, the Ogilvie Mountains, and the Yukon and Klondike Rivers.

Day 11 : Dawson City - Whitehorse (333 miles)
