As you wind your way through British Columbia, you’ll be spoiled by panoramic views of snow-capped mountains, rushing rivers and you may even spot the odd bear or two. After you’ve enjoyed the journey of a lifetime spend a couple of days relaxing in Vancouver, one of the most liveable cities in the world, before boarding your cruise ship to set sail on Alaska’s icy waters. Discover Alaska’s capital city, Juneau, where the surrounding waters are filled with marine life like humpback whales and sea lions and visit Skagway, famed for its role in the Klondike Gold Rush.

Day 1 : UK - Calgary

Fly to Calgary and on arrival make your way to your downtown hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore “Stampede City”.  

Day 2 : Calgary to Lake Louise

Leave the Stampede City of Calgary on the express service to Banff, where you’ll arrive to a picturesque resort town surrounded by the Rocky Mountains. Located within Banff National Park, Banff is renown for its scenic natural beauty and stunning wildlife.

Day 3 : Lake Louise to Jasper

Today you can personalize your day by choosing one of these excursions.

Option 1. Discover Banff & Its Wildlife Tour + Banff Gondola
Explore the natural wonders near the town of Banff on this half-day, small-group tour. Admire the unparalleled beauty of natural sights including Bow Falls, the surreal Hoodoos rock formation, and beautiful Lake Minnewanka, among others. Then Maximize your views of Banff National Park with minimal exertion during this round-trip gondola ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain.

Option 2. Discover Grizzly Bears, Lakes & Waterfalls
Pursue the elusive Canadian Grizzly Bear on this 10 hour excursion through Banff and Yoho National Parks, perfect for animal and nature lovers alike. Head out for a gondola ride up to 7,700 feet for a mountaintop
lunch at Canada’s highest restaurant, and then take a chairlift ride up to the world’s largest enclosed and protected grizzly bear habitat to see Boo the resident bear rescued as a cub.

Option 3. Cowboy Horseback Cookout BBQ Lunch or Dinner
Saddle up for a ride along the Bow River in Banff and a Western style cookout. Choose from riding on horseback or in a covered wagon through the beautiful Rocky Mountain terrain.

Day 4 : Jasper Sightseeing - Choose 1 of 2 Excursions

Your sightseeing tour today will encompass the ultimate glacier exploration as you travel along the spectacular Icefields Parkway. From walking on ancient ice with the Ice Explorer ride (included), to standing on a glass platform almost one thousand feet in the air at the Glacier Skywalk (included), today’s experiences will leave you with a special appreciation for this treasured region of the Rockies. (picnic lunch included today)

Day 5 : Jasper

Today you can personalize your day by choosing one of these excursions

Option 1. Morning Maligne Valley with Medicine Lake Tour
Experience the most incredible sights in Jasper National Park’s Maligne Valley during this guided excursion to the region’s most scenic lakes & majestic canyons, enjoy a gentle guided walk along the shores of this
pristine lake.

Option 2. Evening Discover Jasper & its Wildlife
Admire diverse animal life in the Canadian wilderness on this evening wildlife tour. Delve into Jasper National Park with your guide. Travel through the mighty Athabasca Valley and marvel at the park’s beautiful
landscapes by twilight.

Day 6 : Jasper to Lake Louise

This morning is free to enjoy the sights of Jasper before boarding an express coach to Lake Louise

Day 7 : Rocky Mountaineer Lake Louise – Kamloops

Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer in SilverLeaf from the resort town of Lake Louise to Kamloops, in the heart of British Columbia’s interior. Your journey takes you through a spectacular array of scenery as you travel between the glacier and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies, over mountain passes and through remarkable tunnels, along rocky lakeshores and across the ranch lands of the interior. Today’s highlights include the Continental Divide, the Spiral Tunnels, the Kicking Horse Canyon, Rogers Pass and Craigellachie – where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven. Overnight in Kamloops. Breakfast and Lunch are served onboard.

Day 8 : Rocky Mountaineer Kamloops to Vancouver

Your journey continues west towards the Pacific Ocean and the coastal city of Vancouver. On today’s journey you will again see dramatic changes in scenery, from the desert-like environment of the interior, through winding river canyons and pristine forests, to the Coast and Cascade mountains and the lush green fields of the Fraser River Valley. Highlights include the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River and the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon. On arrival in Vancouver this evening make your way to your hotel for a two night stay. Breakfast and lunch are served onboard today.

Day 9 : Vancouver

A day to explore Vancouver, voted Canada’s most liveable city. It’s a young, friendly city with countless natural charms in close proximity. Shop on chic Robson Street or explore the funky
Granville Island with its market and artists enclave. Discover the surrounding peaks of the Coastal Mountains or go whale watching on the Pacific Ocean

Day 10 : Alaska Cruise

Make your way to the Vancouver cruise terminal to check in for your cruise. Your Holland America Line vessel sets sail at 5pm this evening.

Day 11 : Inside Passage

A day at sea as you cruise the British Columbia coast towards the Alaska Panhandle. Glide past rocky headlands, through the frigid waters of the Inside Passage close to steep mountain walls in one of the world’s most picturesque sea-lanes.

Day 12 : Juneau

Your ship will dock in Juneau today, Alaska’s capital city born of the gold rush of 1880; today it is the scenery that is the town’s fortune with wild mountains, fjords and glaciers. Wildlife is abundant – you may spot humpback and killer whales, sea lions, porpoise, eagles and deer and the majestic Mendenhall Glacier is close by.

Day 13 : Skagway

At the height of the Klondike Gold Rush Skagway was a raucous frontier hub packed with trading posts, saloons and guesthouses. As the gold rush faded into the 1900s, so did Skagway—but today it has been reinvigorated as a gateway for a new kind of visitor: those looking to explore Alaska’s colourful history, pristine wildlife and unrivalled natural beauty.

Day 14 : Glacier Bay

Wake to the breath-taking sight of Glacier Bay National Park with its formidable rivers of ice. A local ranger will join you on board to explain the geological wonders and point out some of the diverse wildlife as you cruise through this stunning region. Listen for the sound of a glacier “calving” – once you hear it you’ll never forget it.

Day 15 : Ketchikan

Arrive in Ketchikan today, a lovely town that is set right on the shores of the Tongass Narrows, with many colourful shops and houses built right over the water. After breakfast, disembark and set off to discover this charming town.

Day 16 : Inside Passage

Spend today cruising south through the majestic landscape of the Inside Passage. Take the time to relax on-board as you glide past the icy fjords, watching for the abundant native wildlife.

Day 17&18 : Disembark Vancouver - UK

Arrive in Vancouver this morning and disembark. Make your way to the airport for your flight home
