Day 1 : Quito

On arrival in Quito, transfer to your hotel.

Day 2 : Quito

Today is free for you to explore Quito. Ecuador’s captivating capital sits high in the Andes on the slopes of the Pichincha volcano. Its beautifully preserved Old Town—Latin America’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a delight to explore, with cobbled streets, grand churches and bustling local markets. (B)

Day 3 : Quito

For those seeking the colours, textures, and sounds of the Andes, this unforgettable day tour to timeless Otavalo is a must. Journey through flowerfilled fields to the elegant Hacienda La Compañía, visit bustling local markets bursting with flavour and tradition, and explore the famous Plaza de los Ponchos. (B,L)

Day 4 : The Amazon

Transfer to the airport for a flight to Coca. On arrival transfer to Sacha Lodge for your Amazonian adventure.

Day 5-7 : The Amazon

The Amazon jungle is one of the world’s greatest natural wonders - a vast, vibrant realm of extraordinary wildlife, lush rainforest and rich indigenous culture. Discover jungle trails teeming with exotic creatures, from sloths and anacondas to brilliant birdlife. Visit remote communities where ancient traditions such as shamanism endure, and stay in a comfortable eco-lodge nestled deep in the forest.

Sacha Lodge is a remote yet refined retreat set within a pristine 5,000-acre private ecological reserve. Cross canopy walkways suspended above the rainforest, climb a towering kapok tree for breathtaking views, swim in black-water lagoons and paddle along lush creeks in search of monkeys, sloths, and anacondas. Day 8 : Quito

Today, return to Quito for an overnight stay before departing for the Galapagos Islands.

Day 9 : Isabela Island, Galapagos

Depart for Isabela Island in the Galapagos via Baltra Island. On arrival check in to the lodge and enjoy lunch before your first afternoon of exploration. Discover the youngest side of the island as you explore the national park, wetland lagoon and giant tortoise breeding centre.

Day 10 : Isabela Island, Galapagos

The activities available depend on your day of arrival on the island however these include hiking, biking and snorkelling tours. All are designed to showcase the unique, bio-diverse wildlife, marine life and flora and fauna that so inspired Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution by natural selection. (B,L,D)

 

Day 11 : Puerto Ayora, Galapagos

This morning, return to Baltra, and take a short ferry ride across the turquoise waters of the Itabaca Channel to Santa Cruz. Visit Los Gemelos, twin volcanic sinkholes nestled in lush highland forest. Continue to a nearby reserve where Galapagos giant tortoises roam freely, then explore ancient lava tunnels formed by past eruptions.

Day 12 : Puerto Ayora, Galapagos

Day 13 : Puerto Ayora, Galapagos

Enjoy a day of discovery. Begin with a scenic walk where you’ll explore mangroves, basalt cliffs and spot iconic Galapagos wildlife. Then, visit the Charles Darwin Research Station for a guided tour of the tortoise breeding centre and learn about groundbreaking conservation work protecting the islands’ unique ecosystems and species. Day 14-15 : Quito - UK

Return to Quito for your final night in Ecuador. Transfer to the airport for your onward flight home in the morning. (B)
