Day 1-2 : UK - Cape Town

On arrival at Cape Town Airport you will be met by and assisted to the meeting point for your private transfer to your hotel. Your accommodation is the stunning Cape Grace Hotel, a luxury hotel situated on a private quay between Cape Town’s bustling V&A Waterfront and the tranquil yacht marina.

Day 3 : Cape Town

A full day tour will take you to Cape Point and beyond. Travel along the Atlantic Seaboard via Sea Point, Clifton and Camps Bay to Hout Bay, a quaint village and fishing harbour with magnificent mountain views and beaches. Continue, to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve at Cape Point - which is perceived to be the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. The day will end with a visit to the well known Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens. The tour ends at approx. 5.30pm with a drop-off at your hotel.

Day 4 : Cape Town

Today a day tour takes you to the Cape Winelands. Explore Stellenbosch and walk down the canal-lined avenues, in the shade of giant oak trees and beautifully preserved historic buildings. Travel to the town of Franschhoek, historically dating back to the 17th century, to when the French Huguenots first arrived. Enjoy a wine tasting before sampling the culinary delights at one of the many award-winning Franschhoek restaurants (lunch not included in cost). Onward to Paarl, one of the Cape’s first farming districts. Return to the bustle of city life after an enthralling day in the countryside, arriving back at approximately 5.30pm.

Day 5 : Cape Town

A free day tour to relax and explore Cape Town at your leisure.

Day 6 : Rovos Rail

An included transfer takes you to the railway station to board your Rovos Rail journey bound for Pretoria. Rovos Rail is synonymous with luxury train travel and for many seasoned visitors to South Africa, there’s no finer way to see the country. The traditional train carriages, all 1920 originals, rekindle the excitement of a bygone era. Your train departs at 4pm today, travel inland through the winelands. This 1000 mile meander is a perfect illustration of South Africa as a world in one country. Overnight: Rovos Rail, Pullman Suite, 3 nights

Day 7 : Rovos Rail

Your Rovos Rail journey continues. Highlights today include a visit to the historic village of Matjiesfontein; this authentic perfectly preserved Victorian Village, founded by Mr Logan as a refreshment stop in 1890, also boasts an impressive museum. Journey through the Karoo, a vast semi-desert region that was once an enormous inland sea. Over millions of years, volcanic matter was ground down and deposited as silt upon the seabed to form what geologists call the Karoo system.

Day 8 : Kimberley - Rovos Rail

Today you can enjoy a tour of Kimberley’s Diamond Mine and the Big Hole. Capital of the Northern Cape, Kimberley is well known for the discovery of diamonds that led to its establishment in 1871. Around noon lunch is served in the dining car as you travel northeast towards the broad grassland plains of the Highveld.

Day 9 : Pretoria

Breakfast is served in the dining car until 9.30am. At 10am disembark at Meyerton Station and a private transfer will take you to your hotel, Castello Di Monte, a fivestar guest house, situated in Waterkloof Ridge, Pretoria. The Tuscan style estate portrays pure luxury and elegance and offers spectacular views of the hills in and around the capital city. Overnight: Castello Di Monte

Day 10-12 : Sabi Sabi

Day 9: A private transfer will take you from your hotel to Johannesburg Airport for your included flight to Sabi Sabi private airstrip. On arrival a transfer will take you to your lodge for a three-night inclusive stay. Sabi Sabi’s intimate all-suite Selati Camp is the most unforgettable of all African experiences. Selati is furnished with a historic railway theme and colonial charm and is meticulously created as an authentic home in the bush. Safaris take place each morning and evening in open safari vehicles which drive through a wide variety of habitats, allowing visitors to view the vast interactions of the wild. Hotel: Sabi Sabi Selati Camp, 3 nights

Day 10 & 11: Enjoy two full days at this intimate camp where you will join morning and evening open vehicle safaris, environmental awareness walking safaris, all meals daily and selected beverages. Big game abounds, moving freely through this unspoiled part of the ancient African continent. The reserve is blessed with a great biodiversity of habitat and wildlife giving an excellent chance of close encounters with the ‘Big Five’ – elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard, as well as wild dog and cheetah.

Day 13-14 : Johannesburg - UK

A transfer this morning takes you back to Sabi Sabi private airstrip. Check in for your included flight back to Johannesburg, where sadly on arrival your extraordinary tour comes to an end. Your overnight flight departs this evening, arriving back at London Heathrow the following morning.
