Your Itinerary
Day 1-2 : UK - Cape Town
Arrive in the magnificent “Mother City,” where ocean, mountain and city converge in spectacular harmony. After settling into your hotel, take time to relax and soak in the breathtaking views of Table Mountain. Cape Town’s cosmopolitan charm reveals itself in its bustling waterfront, stylish cafés, and tree-lined streets. Whether you choose to unwind with a sunset stroll along the Atlantic Seaboard or enjoy a fine dining experience at one of the city’s acclaimed restaurants, these first days offer the perfect introduction to South Africa’s most captivating destination.
Day 3-5 : Cape Town
Over the next few days, uncover the wonders of Cape Town and its surroundings. Take a cable car ride up Table Mountain for sweeping views of the city and coastline, visit the colourful Bo-Kaap district, and explore the historic Castle of Good Hope. Venture further afield to the Cape Peninsula, where rugged cliffs meet the endless ocean at Cape Point, and visit Boulders Beach to see the charming colony of African penguins. A leisurely day in the Cape Winelands offers a taste of world-class vintages amid rolling vineyards and mountain backdrops. Each experience captures the essence of this extraordinary region—diverse, scenic, and unforgettable.
Day 6 : Rovos Rail
Upon your arrival at Cape Town Railway Station join Rovos Rail 'Pride of Africa' train to Pretoria, which departs at 1600 hrs. Tea is served at 1630 hrs in the lounge and observation cars. Dinner is served at 1930 hrs in the dining cars as the train climbs up the face of the escarpment.
Day 7 : Rovos Rail
Disembark for a visit to the historic village of Matjiesfontein, a perfectly preserved Victorian Village for an insight into a bygone era.
Re-join the train and continue your journey. The train travels through the Karoo, a vast semi-desert region that was once an enormous inland sea.
Day 8 : Kimberley
Arrive into Kimberley where you will leave the train for a city tour which will include the 'Big Hole' and Diamond Mine Museum. Re-join the train in time for lunch at 1200 hrs and travel northeast towards Klerksdorp.
Day 9 : Rovos Rail
Your journey will come to an end when the train arrives at Kookrus Station at 1000hrs.
