Where have you visited?
I’ve been lucky enough to travel to a wide range of destinations, including Singapore, Cambodia, the Maldives (where I visited several islands and stayed in different resorts), Mauritius, Thailand and Kuala Lumpur.
I’ve also explored Australia extensively, including driving from Sydney to the Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley, Newcastle and Port Stephens, as well as completing a seven-day road trip from Sydney to Melbourne, where I stayed in tented accommodation. During my visits to Sydney, I climbed the Harbour Bridge and visited the Opera House.
In Africa, I’ve travelled to Botswana, including Chobe National Park, and stayed at the Victoria Falls Hotel in Zambia. I’ve also lived in Egypt, in both Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada. In North America, I experienced the Rocky Mountaineer (GoldLeaf Service) travelling from Denver to Moab, stayed in Moab for a few days, and then continued on to Salt Lake City. I’ve also explored New Zealand’s South Island on a self-drive itinerary from Queenstown to Christchurch, visiting places such as Haast, Franz Josef and Greymouth.
Other destinations I’ve visited include Dubai and Abu Dhabi. I also have experience with ski holidays in France, having worked as a ski rep for a few months.
Can you share a memorable travel moment or adventure?
One of my most unforgettable experiences was going on safari in Botswana and seeing zebras walk past my pool area in Zambia. Climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge and visiting Angkor Wat were also incredible highlights. Taking a helicopter trip up Mount Cook and landing on the mountain itself was truly magical. Living and working in Greece in my twenties was also one of the best times of my life.
Do you have any insider tips for first-time travellers?
My biggest tip is not to overthink it—just book the trip, as you won’t regret it. I would always recommend booking as a package for full financial protection. Once you’re there, make the most of your destination by getting out and exploring. Don’t spend all your time in the hotel—go for walks, discover the local area and really experience the destination.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I enjoy playing and watching football, as well as spending time with family and friends. I love biking and visiting adventure and theme parks. I also enjoy listening to music, playing sports with friends and my children, and travelling around the UK to watch my son play football. Going to the cinema and watching movies is another favourite pastime. Above all, I enjoy being a role model for my children and, of course, travelling and discovering new places whenever I can.
