Where have you visited?
I have been fortuned enough to have explored many part of the world.
Most visited country is India, visiting Delhi, Mumbai, Kerala (Kochi) Amritsar (The Holy City), Punjab Gujarat & Rajasthan!
I have also cruised around the Mediterranean Sea, Northern Europe & the Caribbean Sea where I stopped off to explore Barbados, St Kitts, British Virgin Islands, Siant Maarten, Antigua & Guadalupe.
I have recently gained some interest in exploring more parts of Asia and decided to explore Singapore & Bali as a twin centre and it happened to be one of my most favourite destination.
Can you share a memorable travel moment or adventure?
I have experienced so many memorable moments but if I had to pick a few highlights then it will have to be my time in Kerla, India where I witnessed a herd of elephant in wilderness causally strolling through the jungle in a small tea plantation town called Munnar.
While sailing through the Caribbean where I stopped to explore St Kitts for the day I was blown away with the beautiful scenery and discovered the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea meet but impossible to be mixed on Timothy Hill Overlook.
When visiting Singapore I came across beautiful temple visit called Thian Hock Keng Temple, where the locals come and worship the Chinese Sea Goddess called Mazu. What I discovered here was they have a wishing well a popular and tranquil spot where visitors ring a bell, make a wish, and toss a coin for good fortune and this feeling felt truly magical and it’s something I will always remember.
Do you have any insider tips for first-time travellers?
My biggest inside tip that I have learnt over my travelling years is to travel light – its easy, cheap and convinced to get clothes washed & press when on an adventure and don’t worry too much if you haven’t packed toiletries or simply forgotten them as most hotels in the world now provide you with these common facilities. Always good to travel with a small amount of local currency as well as pound sterling and then rest can go on a travel card like Revolut or Monzo also good for safety.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time related to travel I love reading world news- see what’s happening around the world and not just at home and love finding and reading travel books to see which new destination I want to visit next which is linked to the final question…
Is there a destination still on your bucket list?
I am rooting for a spiritual and rather traditional trip to Bhutan. This is somewhere where I had always thought of going and to help me understand what it can offer I have started reading Treasures of the Thunder Dragon: A Portrait of Bhutan.
